Recycling Revisited was developed in order to increase public awareness of the citizen recycling movement that began in Burlington in 1970. At the time CCPC (Citizens Committee for Pollution Control) was heavily involved in the encouragement of recycling household waste. Growing to over 1,000 participants this volunteer-based, city-wide recycling program was maintained until 1983 when the city of

Burlington took over with its own recycling program. We believe that this unique effort deserves to be remembered and celebrated.
