IODE Ontario IODE ... women dedicated to a better Canada We recognize police officers, fire fighters, veterans and others for outstanding community service.

We are a proud Canadian women's charitable organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life for children, youth and those in need through educational, social service and citizenship programs. Founded and organized within Canada in 1900, we still continue to serve the changing needs of society while recognizing the value of tradition. Our Members actively participate in events and projects that promote the pride and understanding of the peoples and unity of Canada. Victims of Canadian disasters have been assisted. We have taken the initiative in establishing genetic clinics and initiating programs in the field of medical genetics. We strive to inspire confidence in the growth of children into self-assured, kind and capable human beings. IODE supports students and schools with awards, bursaries, scholarships and educational supplies. IODE is a national organization, which raises over $3.3 million every year to benefit Canadians, and provides over 833,000 hours of volunteer service annually in attempts to meet the needs of our communities. We celebrate all Canadians and the diversity possible within our Canadian community

🎒📚 It’s back-to-school week!

While social media is full of first-day photos, backpacks and “How are they already in Grade ___?” posts, we’re thinking about the students who have made it a little further… all the way to their PhD. 🎓

Established in 1918, the IODE War Memorial Scholarship program honours Canadians who sacrificed their lives or were permanently disabled while serving their country.

Today, the scholarship supports Canadian doctoral students pursuing advanced studies at Canadian or Commonwealth universities. Applicants must be Canadian citizens and be enrolled in at least the second year of a doctoral program.

Recipients are selected based on academic achievement, demonstrated potential and commitment to volunteer service.

🎓 3 scholarships of $15,000 each are awarded annually.

Know a doctoral student who should apply? Tag them or share this post!

Police Academy camp has many thanks to share following the conclusion of our amazing week. We couldn't have had such a successful program without the support of many.
- North Perth for the wonderful partnership, and the staff who were with us all week.
- PC Kerri Fulton who assisted us, and guided us all week. Our marching was on point because of you!!
- OPP Youth Ambassador Ashlyn, who not only helped all week, but also was an amazing "judge" in our mock trial!
- IODE Ontario for the Police Community Relations award funding
- Perth County OPP Detachment Board for providing funding
- OPPA Branch 6 for funding
- OPP Youth Foundation for funding support
- Anna Mae's Restaurant and Bakery for donating donuts to decorate
- Domino's Pizza Liatowel who provided lunch on Friday, for a great way to end the week
- and all of the OPP specialty units who visited us
All of your support provides opportunities for our youth. ^jj
