RCACC 2379 Royal Hamilton Light Infantry

RCACC 2379 Royal Hamilton Light Infantry Burlington Army Cadets The Army Cadet Program is a unique and amazing opportunity for Canadian youth. They will learn to become outdoor leaders.

It provides the best type of training possible, emphasizing responsibility, independence, leadership, problem solving, discipline, dress and deportment, citizenship, team building, and physical fitness. Army cadets develop abilities in the use of map & compass, GPS technology, orienteering, first-aid, camping and survival skills, canoeing, abseiling, skiing, trekking, mountain biking, and so much

more. As they get more experienced, some will be selected for advanced experiences like parachuting, white-water rafting and glacier climbing. Army Cadets also get involved in ceremonial military events and citizenship activities that allow them to connect to their Canadian heritage. They develop a great sense of pride and discipline through their involvement in a hierarchical system that allows them to hone their leadership skills as they grow older and learn to care for younger cadets. All of this is provided FREE OF CHARGE.

Another bittersweet moment as another of our seniors moves forward to new horizons. For over three years, Cadet MWO Sobilo has learned, grown, changed, adapted, improvised, and overcome. MWO Sobilo has mentored and developed her fellow cadets into Canadas future leaders and we are confident this will continue in whatever endeavours she puts her mind to going forward. Congratulations on a successful cadet career and on finishing strong as you age out from the program. We were honoured to be able to have her father attend in his full dress uniform as well to mark this momentous occasion.

Today, on International Transgender Day of Visibility, we proudly recognize the transgender and gender diverse members of our community. Our program strives to create a space where every young person can grow, lead, and express their authentic selves.

Diversity, inclusion, and respect are core strengths of the Cadet Program- when everyone is supported, we all thrive together. 🌈
