RCACC 2379 Royal Hamilton Light Infantry Burlington Army Cadets The Army Cadet Program is a unique and amazing opportunity for Canadian youth. They will learn to become outdoor leaders.

It provides the best type of training possible, emphasizing responsibility, independence, leadership, problem solving, discipline, dress and deportment, citizenship, team building, and physical fitness. Army cadets develop abilities in the use of map & compass, GPS technology, orienteering, first-aid, camping and survival skills, canoeing, abseiling, skiing, trekking, mountain biking, and so much more. As they get more experienced, some will be selected for advanced experiences like parachuting, white-water rafting and glacier climbing. Army Cadets also get involved in ceremonial military events and citizenship activities that allow them to connect to their Canadian heritage. They develop a great sense of pride and discipline through their involvement in a hierarchical system that allows them to hone their leadership skills as they grow older and learn to care for younger cadets. All of this is provided FREE OF CHARGE.

Today, on National Truth and Reconciliation Day, we join as Canadian youth to remember, to honour, and to act. We stand with Indigenous communities, carrying forward the lessons of the past to shape a future rooted in respect, empathy, and justice. As cadets, we commit ourselves to being part of lasting change.
