Back to Nature Network

Back to Nature Network A multisectoral network of organizations working together to get children and families outdoors, active and connected to nature.

Back to Nature Network is a diverse and growing group of organizations uniting to build a capacity to connect children, youth and families with nature in ongoing and meaningful ways. The network grew from the international children and nature movement that is focused on addressing 'nature-deficit disorder', a term spawned by Richard Louv's book Last Child in the Woods. Over 80 network member organ

izations representing education, health, planning, environment and active living sectors, have come together with the mission of strengthening the health and well-being of all Ontario children and their families by building a vibrant network of people and organizations who actively create opportunities to experience nature every day.
