🌱 Calling all handy neighbors and DIY enthusiasts! 🌱

Our beloved community garden needs a little extra love. Over the seasons, our garden boxes have worked hard, and now they are in need of some serious repairs.

Here is what we are looking at:

One box is in desperate need of a total rebuild/major repair. 🛠️

Several other boxes also need a bit of TLC to get them back in tip-top shape. 🪵

If you are handy, have some tools, and are willing to share your skills to help our garden thrive, we would absolutely love to draw on your expertise!

Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out to our community for help with The Orchard Community Garden.

For the past 5 years (since COVID), our garden has been a shared space built with care, connection, and purpose. Together, we’ve grown fresh produce across our 8 garden boxes and donated the harvest to local food banks—something we can all be proud of.

Over time, as life has evolved and schedules have become increasingly busy, we’ve found that we’re no longer able to give the garden the consistent attention it needs to truly thrive.

👉 We are now looking for someone (or a small team) to take over coordination of the garden.
This would involve:
• Organizing and recruiting volunteers
• Overseeing watering, weeding, and general upkeep
• Coordinating harvesting and donations
• Helping keep the garden active and thriving

We do have ongoing support from the Halton Environmental Network, who assist with pruning every few weeks.

🌼 This garden has always been about community. It would be wonderful to see it continue rather than fade away.
If you’re interested in taking on a voluntary leadership role or helping out —please comment below or send a message. Even a small group stepping up together could make this very manageable.
