🧶 Crafter Highlight: Cozy Stitching Nook! 🧶

We're excited to shine the spotlight on another talented local crafter featured at The Legacy Gift Shop!

Meet Laurie Pardy, the creative hands behind Cozy Stitching Nook! Laurie makes a wonderful variety of handmade plushies, snugglers, finger-knit blankets, and home décor.

Laurie's finger-knitting journey began in June 2025, when she made a small blanket as a gift for her cousin's new baby. By that fall, she had started learning to read patterns and create plushies and snugglers. After completing her first plushie, she knew she'd found a craft she truly loved!

For Laurie, one of the most rewarding parts of crafting is seeing a project come together after all the time and care she's put into it. Even better is knowing that one of her blankets or plushies might bring someone a little extra comfort and happiness.

🌟 Crafter Highlight: Craft Creations! 🌟

We're kicking off a new series highlighting the talented local crafters whose products you'll find at The Legacy Gift Shop! First up is Craft Creations, owned by Chris and Shelley!

Craft Creations has a wonderful selection of tumblers, water bottles, and custom Legacy Gift Shop mugs available in our shop. They also create a wide variety of personalized products, including ornaments, keychains, magnets, coasters, and much more!

Many of their designs celebrate Newfoundland and Labrador, our communities, families, and holidays.

For Chris and Shelley, the most rewarding part of their work is seeing people enjoy something they've created. Knowing that one of their products can bring a smile to someone's face or become a treasured keepsake in their home means the world to them.

They'd also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone throughout the Burin Peninsula and surrounding communities for their continued support!

This week brings a little bit of change to The Legacy Gift Shop as we say goodbye to one wonderful staff member and welcome another!

After eight weeks with us, our summer student Amanda Kavanagh is finishing up her time at the Gift Shop. Amanda has been such a lovely part of our team this summer, helping us through our first weeks of operating the shop and always greeting our customers with a friendly smile. 🛍️💕

As Amanda heads back to university this fall to continue her studies in Speech-Language Pathology, we want to thank her for everything she has contributed over the past eight weeks and wish her all the very best in the year ahead. We know there are great things ahead for you, Amanda! 🎓🩷

At the same time, we’re very happy to welcome Luna Kirby to our Gift Shop team! Luna has been training alongside Amanda this week and will officially begin her new role with us on Monday. We’re excited to have her join us and look forward to having another friendly face behind the counter at The Legacy Gift Shop! 😊

Please join us in wishing Amanda all the best as she returns to university, and Luna all the best as she begins this new journey with us! 💛

🧵 A Wonderful Gift from Merging the Seams! 🧵

A big thank you to the talented ladies of Merging the Seams for their generous donation to The Legacy Gift Shop! 🥰

The sewing group, which meets at The Merge, donated an incredible $600 worth of handmade items, including beautiful quilts, baby blankets, bibs, handbags and more, along with a $75 cash donation to support local healthcare.

We are so grateful to have these beautiful handmade pieces available in our Gift Shop, and even more grateful for the community spirit behind them. Every purchase from The Legacy Gift Shop helps support healthcare right here on the Burin Peninsula. 🩷🩵
