I apologize its taken me a few days to post this, I needed a few days to recoup after our last event.
On Friday May 1st, we held The first of many fundraising events we will be holding to raise funds for repairs needed for our newly acquired Clark (with no E😊) bridge. To say the event was a success would be an understatement. We started serving at 4:15pm and served the last meatball on the plate at 7:00pm. 480 meatballs were served, 44 lbs of pasta, unlimited amounts of salad, 238 beverages, 15 loaves of bread and a large amount of desserts prepared by our volunteers.
Now to the thank you. A huge thank you to all those who purchased tickets prior to and at the door for the meal and to those who purchased support tickets. Your generosity, it's overwhelming. Special thank you goes out to the volunteers who showed up that day and gave it their all. Kudos to David Hay, our pasta chef. To Phil, Chris, Justin, Garnet, Sandy and Judy for the serving and the prep work, you all did a great job without spilling anything. To our bus boys Don, Mike, Glen, Kevin and Brian for keeping up the clearing of the tables for the next group of people to sit down, great job guys. And I can't forget our dishwashers extraordinaire Bob and Terry and Tammy. You guys are awesome! To the two lovely faces you saw when you walked in the door Canda and Brooke, always smiling and happy to greet our guests..
I also wanted to thank the guests we had from some of our neighboring clubs who came out to show their support: Echo Bay Snow Falcons, Sault Trailblazers, Blind River Sno-Riders and Spanish River Snowmobile Club.
And to Jeff Mitchell for the generous door prize.
What's next you ask? Our beef BBQ, happening July 11th at the arena in Bruce Mines. Watch our page for more information and how to get tickets to this fun and delicious event. SEE YOU THERE…….
