Makerspace may have ended, but the fun continues! 🎮✨

SPEC Youth Services is stepping in to bring some Maker magic back. We’re renaming the space and updating programs, but for now, the space is open for youth to drop in and enjoy Switch, VR, board games, and more while we work out the details.

Hours:

Monday: Mini Maker 3–5 PM | Ages 7–10

Tuesday & Thursday: 3–5 PM | Ages 11–17

Friday: 12–5 PM | Ages 11–17

Wednesday: Closed, join the fun at the Mezz

Come hang out and keep the fun going!

Our November Smash Bros Tournament is Coming up in just over 2 weeks!! Don't hesitate to secure your spot by registering today.

Do you love to compete for great prizes while spending an afternoon gaming with your friends?
Join us for MakerSpace's Second Smash Bros Ultimate Tournament event! Kids of all skill levels ages 11-17 are welcome to come join and test their skills against kids from all over Brooks and Newell!
👥 This event is for all youth in Brooks and Newell communities ages 11-17 who want to test their mettle, meet some new friends and have a great time playing Smash Bros!
🎉 No experience needed—just show up ready to have fun!
✨ What to Expect:
• Kids of ALL SKILL LEVELS are welcome so whether you're new or a veteran player you'll have a chance to win prizes!
• 2 screens will be running at the same time with a double elimination bracket so even if you lose your first match you still have a chance to take 1st place!
• Meet other Smash Bros fans and players while also taking part in the rest of MakerSpace inbetween matches!

It's been a busy month already but there's still lots going on at MakerSpace in November including our Smash Bros Tournament at the end of this month! Come check us out or message us with any questions.

Only 3 more days until our Halloween Bash! Come dressed up in your best spooky costumes and be ready for a good time filled with games, music, prizes and food! The party will be happening on Friday from 12-3pm with Regular MakerSpace opening up for the rest of the afternoon until 6pm.

We recognize the difficulty that has been placed on parents at this time with Brooks and Newell youth needing more to do while being off school. We've made plans to help accomodate more time in our programs starting next week. Please share this post around as much as possible to get the word out to parents that we are adjusting our hours for the duration of the Teachers Strike to help out in any small way we can.
