Still looking for more responses! 🔧🧵

EcoBrooks is exploring the idea of bringing a Repair Café to Brooks in 2027, and before we start making plans, we want to hear from YOU!

A Repair Café is a community event where people can bring broken or damaged household items and, with the help of volunteer fixers, try to repair them instead of throwing them away. It can also be a chance to learn new repair skills, share knowledge and meet others in the community.

We want to know:
🔧 What would you want to have repaired?
💻 What types of repair services would you like to see?
🛠️ Do you have a skill you'd be willing to share as a volunteer fixer?

Take our short survey and help us figure out what a Brooks Repair Café could look like: https://forms.gle/YzPEDWrKKppSunFf7

Your feedback will help us determine what services would be most useful and what skills we have right here in our community.

Let's fix things instead of throwing them away! ♻️

Happening right outside the City of Brooks 👏♻️

Alberta is launching North America’s first solar panel recycling program.

Beginning October 1, we will become the first province with a solar panel recycling program that recovers valuable materials and supports a circular economy through keeping solar panels out of landfills.

Solar panels contain valuable glass, aluminum, silicon, silver, copper and other metals. Instead of burying those resources in landfills, the recycling program will recover them for use in new products.
