Lyn Athens 4H Club working away in the Foodbank garden today! We got lettuce, beans, pickling cucumbers, butternut squash, radishes broccoli, eggplant in today. We put cages over the tomato plants and set some more fabric down. The kiddos put mulch around the plants and on top of the barrier fabric. More to go in at the Addison United Church raised beds too.

Fantastic Lyn Athens 4H Fishing Club in Delta today. Kids had a great time catching lots of fish! Jessie showed us how to tie a knot. Lots of re-stringing lost and hooked lines. Way to go Addison for catching how many fish?!? 🐟

Great evening with the Lyn Athens Cloverbuds at the Addison United Church! We learned all about planting vegetables and put some donated coffee grinds in around the topsoil that our local restaurants are collecting for us! We put some additional coffee grinds at the Foodbank garden to battle slugs! 🐌
Always learning and trying new things with the Cloverbuds! Thanks Shirley for bringing a load of topsoil and Brenda for bringing all the seeds and markers. As well as the fun bubbles and chalk for after the work was done!!

We got a drop off cooler set up and some plants for the Foodbank garden!
Thank you to the community for all the support especially to Vanessa Durand of What’s One More in Kemptville for donating a pile of plants
Prickly Acres for donating a pile of berry shrubs and plants and taking the time to bag some manure for the Foodbank Garden and deliver everything to us! We appreciate your support and time!!

Fantastic weekend wrapping up Cake Decorating! Participants did an amazing job for the achievement of making cakes for Addison United Church Service. You all got to test your skills out by using all the different piping tips and doing fantastic designs!

Lyn Athens 4H Fishing Club had an amazing day on Saturday in Lyndhurst!! The talented group of anglers caught a bunch of fish! We caught (and released) Baby Rockbass, teeny tiny perch, a few awesome sunfish and a frightening crawfish! We are so lucky to have such an awesome group of people who are willing to show the kids how to tie knots, manage worms, and how not to panic if you get caught up on some rocks. It was a fantastic day. A Giant shout out to Canadian Tire Brockville for all the lures and rods for the kids. Thank you and see you out on the shore next free fishing weekend… June! !
