Heads up for the FYB race tomorrow - We were just informed that the Memorial Center lobby will be unavailable due to the roof work, so registration, awards etc. will have to take place outside. It appears that Spring has once again failed to start and the forecast is calling for below freezing temperature, so ensure you have suitable clothing - layers you can remove before/replace after the run.
Currently we are unsure whether this means the washrooms will also be unavailable - at this time please be aware that there is a possibility they won't be accessible

Registration for the February and March races of the Freeze Your Buns 2026 series of 5K and Kids 1K races is open! Details and registration at: https://trackie.com/event/fyb2026

The series has now been converted to a 2-Race series with the first race having been cancelled - this means anyone who didn't register for the series to get a T-shirt is now able to for the February race (either online before 11:59pm on the 19th, or in-person on race day)

If you already registered for the 3 race series, no action is required - you have been partially refunded and your original registration is still valid for the series :-)

*** ATTENTION FREEZE YOUR BUNS PARTICIPANTS ***

Due to the extreme cold forecast for Saturday, we have made the difficult but necessary decision to cancel this weekend's instalment of the Freeze Your Buns series. The forecast is calling for temperatures below -20°C, which on top of a frostbite risk poses a risk of inhaling cold air deep into the lungs that can result in permanent lung damage. While we understand that this is "Freeze Your Buns" and cold temperatures are part of the theme - we don't want anyone freezing anything more than just their buns!

If you have registered for the 3 Race Series:
- The series will be converted to a 2-race series with the February and March dates as originally planned
- If you selected to receive a T-shirt, you will still receive this after the March race as usual
- If you have paid online, you will receive a partial refund of 1/3 of the registration fee for the series

If you have registered for the January race only:
- If you have paid online, your registration fee will be fully refunded

If you have registered for the January race and the February or March race:
- If you have paid online, your fee for the January race will be fully refunded

We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this cancellation, and hope to see those of you who have registered for the series or February race next month!

As well as proceeds from this year's Freeze Your Buns 3-race series being donated to the Food Bank, the Ontario SPCA Leeds and Grenville Animal Centre will be accepting donations of dog coats and boots, dog toys, leashes/collars/harnesses, and food/water bowls alongside our registration setup at the Brockville Memorial Centre with a goal of creating 3 "Pawsitive Packs" for the Food Bank to supply families who need help with supplies for their pets!

Sharing for Cornwall Multisport Club:

The Labour Day 5K Chase is on and takes place next Monday, Sept. 1 at the Gray's Creek Conservation Area.

Start time for the Chase is 9:30 a.m. It will be preceded by a 1km kids' race (16 and under) at 9 a.m.

The Chase features two loops of a combined road/bike path course through the site. This event allows for gender/age neutrality and your start time is based on this. The first person to cross the finish line wins and . . . wait for it . . . will receive the much-coveted Golden Shoe Award, along with some chocolate and licorice treats.

Registration for both events is free for registered 2025 CMC members.

Cost for non-members is $5 for the kids' race and $10 for the Chase.

Organizers for the event are Kathleen Hay and Elena MacKay Bais.

Volunteers will be required to ensure a successful and safe event. We'll need folks to help with set-up, traffic control, start/finish line logistics and the kids' race. Please reach out to either Elena or Kathleen if you are able to lend a hand.

Registration in advance is appreciated, but is not necessary. This is a rain or shine event. On-site registration and bib pick-up will be available from 8:30 a.m.
