Aakom-Kiyii Health Services continues to grow and expand our services to better serve the Piikani Nation. With more services comes the need for more staff to help support our community!

We’re excited to introduce four new members of our Home Care team: Registered Nurses Hailey Olsen and Nicole Long Time Squirrel, and Health Care Aides Valdina Twoyoungmen and Lisa Prairie Chicken.

You may have already seen some of these new faces around the community as they’ve become part of the Aakom-Kiyii team. Their addition strengthens our Home Care department and helps us continue providing quality care to community members.

🏈 Something exciting is coming to Piikani Nation! 🏆

AKHS is partnering with the CFL to bring an exciting day of flag football to our youth, ages 8–15!

And that’s not all — the Grey Cup will be there! Youth will have the opportunity to take part in flag football and get their photo taken with the Grey Cup.

We’re still working out a few of the details, so keep an eye on our social media for more information and for when registration opens.

We can’t wait to see our youth out there!

A message from our Head Start team:

On September 30, we honour the children who never returned home, the survivors of residential schools, and their families and communities.

At Head Start, we believe even our youngest learners can begin this journey. We hold space for kindness, fairness, and belonging. Through stories, connection to the land, and listening to Indigenous voices, we learn together with gentle care.

We invite families to wear orange, share stories by Indigenous authors, and walk this path of learning with us.
