We are a registered non-profit CANADIAN based group working to support and facilitate animal rescue primarily within Ontario and Quebec.

As supporters of the humane treatment of animals, we want to see all adoptable animals find a loving and caring forever home. Our objective is to enter into fundraising activities that will enable us to provide responsible rescue to homeless animals which will include the provision of spay/neuter, vaccinations and microchipping as well as all necessary medical treatments and rehabilitation to ensure successful, lifelong adoptions. We will work collaboratively with both local and high kill shelters to try to rescue senior, special needs and death row animals first and foremost - to save as many lives as we can. We will also partner with other animal-based initiatives to strengthen and unify the rescue community and to increase resources for pet parents within our local communities and beyond.

Just a little Tomo for your timeline. 💜🐾

Four-year-old Tomo has been absolutely thriving in his foster home, making leaps and bounds with his house manners, socialization and all those little skills that help prepare a rescue dog for his forever home.

And yes… you are seeing correctly. That is a pink tail. 😂💕 Tomo was proudly sporting his colours as an ally during Pride Month, and frankly, we think he wears pink rather well.

This handsome, fluffy fellow has come such a long way, and now we just need to make sure the right family sees him. 👀

Even better - you’ll have a chance to meet Tomo in person! He’ll be joining us on October 24th for our Donut Day at Justin's Pet Store in Cobourg, where he’ll be accepting admirers, meeting potential forever families and presumably showing off that magnificent floof. 🍩🐶

More Donut Day details are coming soon, but in the meantime, please give Tomo a share and help us keep this lovely boy on everyone’s radar. His people might just be out there scrolling.💗

💜PLEASE SHARE💜
Jewel is still waiting… and we’re really hoping her special someone will finally see her.

Jewel’s family circumstances have changed since she was adopted several years ago, and through no fault of her own, she desperately needs a new place to land.

Her family is doing everything they can to work with us, and we’re incredibly grateful, but their situation is becoming increasingly difficult and the clock is ticking for this sweet girl.

We have shared. We have searched. We have asked for fosters and adopters. And somehow, Jewel is still waiting. 💔

What she needs really isn’t complicated: a calm, quiet, safe home where she can decompress, feel secure again and just be somebody’s girl. Jewel would be happiest as the only dog, soaking up all the love for herself.

Could you be the person who finally gives Jewel her chance? Or maybe you know them?

Please share her. Somewhere out there is the home she needs…we just have to reach them. 🐾💗

💜 RESCUE NEWS 💜

Please welcome Leon to the K9C family. 💜

Leon is an 11-year-old senior pup, identified as a Morkie, whose world has recently changed after his beloved person became ill and was no longer able to care for him.

This sweetheart of a senior has landed safely with us, and for now, his only job is to settle in and let us take care of him.

What we know so far is that Leon is a calm, affectionate and social little gentleman who enjoys being close to his people. He has lived a quiet life and has been friendly with the people, dogs and cats he has met along the way.

Leon arrived needing a little more TLC than most. He has some of the aches and pains that can come with being an older fellow, and there are a few things medically that we’ll be addressing before we even begin thinking about adoption. He’s also headed for a much-needed groom to get him comfortable and feeling like himself again.

For now, Leon has a warm foster home, people looking out for him, and a whole rescue community in his corner.

Welcome to K9C, sweet boy. Your next chapter starts here. 💜

💜 What an incredible day. 💜

Our hearts are very full tonight. Thanks to everyone who came out to Readings for Rescue, an amazing $1,735 was raised for the dogs of K9Crusaders!

We would especially like to thank our incredible animal communicators Dorothy Turk, Deb Stanton, Deb Kemp and Christine Crawford, who so generously donated their time and talent to this amazing fundraiser. We are so grateful that you chose to share your gifts in support of our rescue and the dogs in our care.

And to everyone who came for a reading, volunteered, shared our event or helped spread the word - thank you. Every person who supported today played a part in making it such a success.

It was a pretty wonderful reminder of what can happen when a community comes together for rescue. 💜🐾

Meet 4-year-old Tomo, the newest member of the K9C family. 🐾

This handsome Japanese Spitz recently lost his human, and while his story here begins with heartbreak, our dedicated team is committed to helping Tomo through this transition as he begins the next chapter of his life.

A huge thank you to his wonderful foster family for stepping up and giving this special boy a safe, loving place to call home when he needed it most. 💜

A Fundraiser for K9Crusaders

Join us at Mystic Avenue for a special day of mediumship readings in support of dogs in need!

Popular local medium and author Dorothy Turk will joined by five talented guest mediums - Christine Crawford, Deb Kemp, Deb Stanton and Leona Corbin. With so many gifted readers available throughout the day, this is a wonderful opportunity to receive a personal session while supporting an important local rescue.

🔮 15-minute readings: $40
🐾 First come, first served
💜 Proceeds benefit K9Crusaders

No appointments or advance bookings are required. Simply arrive and check in for a reading with one of the available mediums.

K9Crusaders is a volunteer-run, foster-based dog rescue serving our region. Because they do not operate a shelter, rescued dogs are cared for in the homes of volunteer foster families until their permanent homes can be found. The organization provides veterinary care, food, supplies, grooming and training when needed, helping each dog receive the care and fresh start they deserve.

🍕 35 ORDERS. $175 RAISED. A WHOLE LOT OF LOVE FOR OUR DOGS. 🐾💜

Last Friday night, our friends at Papa’s Pizzaland in Cobourg hosted a special fundraiser for K9Crusaders - and you guys SHOWED UP!

An amazing 35 K9Crusaders Specials went out the door, raising $175 for the dogs in our care! 🙌🐶

To every single person who ordered dinner and supported our rescue in the process, we thank you. And a HUGE thank you to the wonderful folks at Papa’s Pizzaland for hosting us, supporting our rescue and making this fundraiser possible.

For a small rescue like ours, $175 matters. It helps with food, medication, veterinary care and all those everyday expenses that come with saying yes to dogs who need us.

And apparently helping rescue dogs tastes pretty darn good. 😉🍕

35 specials. $175 for the dogs. One very grateful rescue!

Twiggy’s babies are 5 weeks old! 🐾

Where has the time gone?! These six little nuggets are growing like weeds, finding their feet, discovering their voices… and keeping their foster family VERY busy! 😂

At five weeks old, they’re a full-time job and becoming much more mobile - which means they’re also becoming much more adventurous when it comes to potty time. 😉

And THAT means we are going through puppy pads at an alarming rate! 🫣😂

Six puppies + tiny bladders + lots of exploring = our puppy pad supply disappears FAST!
