Thank you for giving the Gift of a Lifetime 💛🩺

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, The Gift of a Lifetime campaign has exceeded its fundraising goal, raising over $80,000 to support life-saving care for mothers and babies at South Shore Regional Hospital.

Because of you, our Women and Children's Department now have access to a dedicated Rapid Infuser, giving doctors and nurses the tools they need to respond quickly during obstetric emergencies when every second counts.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. To every donor, volunteer, advocate, and supporter who made this possible, your generosity will have a lasting impact on families across the South Shore for years to come. 💙

“I wanted to help the people I know best: my neighbours, friends, and family.”

For Amanda Noble, receiving support through the South Shore Bursary Program was life-changing. Today, she serves our community as Manager of the South Shore and Southwest Opioid Recovery Program and the Lunenburg Recovery Support Centre, thanks in part to the generous donors who believed in her future.

For 20 years, the South Shore Bursary Program has helped local students pursue careers in health care and return home to provide care right here on the South Shore.

Now, we need your help to support the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Your donations helps ensure our hospitals have the nurses, technologists, and allied health professionals our community depends on.

Invest in students. Invest in care. Invest in our community. Donate today at www.sshfoundation.ca/bursary

Please join us in celebrating our newest Champion of Care Tracy Wagner, Porter at South Shore Regional Hospital! 🌟👏

A grateful donor recently made a donation to the South Shore Health Foundation in Tracy’s honour after witnessing her extraordinary kindness in action.

💬 “While attending to my own patients in SSRH OR, I witnessed Tracy going out of her way to calm and console an obviously worried pre-op patient who had just been brought to the OR. Well done Tracy, your kindness is appreciated!”

It’s often the smallest moments of compassion that leave the biggest impact. Tracy’s caring and comforting presence helped ease a patient’s fear during a vulnerable moment — a beautiful reminder of how every member of the healthcare team makes a difference.

Thank you, Tracy, for the kindness, empathy, and support you bring to patients and families every day. ❤️

It takes exceptional people to deliver exceptional care. Martin Jung is one of them.

As an Advanced Care Paramedic in the Emergency Department at South Shore Regional Hospital, Martin recently made a profound difference in the life of a young patient — the kind of care that reminds us why we invest in the people and programs that serve our community.

The exceptional care that Martin provided inspired the patient's family to make a donation to the South Shore Health Foundation in Martin's honour! We're honoured to name Martin our newest Champion of Care. 💙

Thank you, Martin — and thank you to every healthcare professional who shows up for our South Shore community every day.

WELCOME DR. TAGUE!

In the midst of celebrating our Lunenburg County doctors for Doctors Day, I would like to take a minute out to welcome a new family medicine physician, Dr. Courtney Tague. Originally from the US, Dr. Tague and her partner fell in love with Nova Scotia on their site visit, and recently relocated here. Dr. Tague is joining the wonderful group of physicians and staff at Bridgewater and Area Family Health.

If you see Dr. Tague at the clinic or in the community, please extend a warm South Shore welcome!
