Congratulations Brechin Mara Legion Br. #488 on seeing this journey reach its destination! The new Club Room is sure to continue the traditons of honour, rememberance and community service your volunteers have kindly created and upheld these many years. Enjoy 😁

It’s with great excitement I invite you to join me at the Brechin Mara Legion Br. #488 Grand Re-opening this Saturday, June 13, as we celebrate the refreshed Club Room and the months of work, care and community spirit that made it possible.

The Legion is where Ramara’s families come together in solemn remembrance to honour our veterans and active service members and their families. It’s also a community hub where we’ve gathered in friendship, laughter and sadness — a place that’s held community through respect, celebration, comfort and belonging. The Brechin Legion is a beacon — a place to learn, care and be cared for.

I'll forever carry the moments I was able to connect with the Legion Executive and Ladies Auxiliary during the aftermath of Ice Storm 2025, when Branch #488 opened its doors and helped care for residents with warmth, meals and kindness during one of the most challenging times Ramara has experienced. Together we overcame the fear and uncertainty because that’s the heart of the people who are our Legion. And THAT’s the spirit we’re celebrating.

I offer my gratitude to the members who given tirelessly to the breathtaking space and the community members and businesses who supported the fundraising campaign. Thank you all for putting community first. I can't wait to see you on Saturday 😊
