Kiwanis Calgary Northmount thanks the Kiwanis Foundation of Canada for its support with a Community Outreach Grant last year

Northmount's journey to food insecurity started with our fundraiser "Cooking with Kids Cookbook" and then two years of preparing hampers to support organizations in Calgary, Airdrie, Cochrane and Okotoks. The club decided that we didn't have the resources to continue making hampers on an ongoing basis.

The remaining profits were donated to three organizations that had commercial kitchens and welcome volunteers to help prepare and distribute food to those in need.

Our search identified three organizations that we have focused on: Made by Momma, Soup Sisters, and Brown Bagging for Calgary Kids were the subject of our grant request.

From the photos below you and see impact, fun, fellowship and smiles knowing that the club has made as difference.

A year later are looking forward to continue to make more of a difference in our community . .. Food insecurity.
