The Kiwanis Foundation of Canada is proud to once again provide financial support for disaster relief.

Today we are proud to recognize theKiwanis Foundation of Canada/La Foundation Kiwanis du Canada for its generous contribution of $17,500 to the Northwestern Ontario Wildfire Community Support Fund.

Dedicated to improving the lives of children and strengthening communities, the Kiwanis Foundation of Canada is proud to join with Kiwanis Clubs across Canada in supporting individuals, families, and communities affected by the devastating wildfires across Northwestern Ontario.

Their generosity reflects the Kiwanis spirit of service—that when communities are facing extraordinary challenges, we are strongest when we come together to help one another.

Thank you to the Kiwanis Foundation of Canada and the many Kiwanis members across Canada whose commitment to service and community is helping Northwestern Ontario recover, rebuild, and become more resilient.

Kiwanis Calgary Northmount thanks the Kiwanis Foundation of Canada for its support with a Community Outreach Grant last year

Northmount's journey to food insecurity started with our fundraiser "Cooking with Kids Cookbook" and then two years of preparing hampers to support organizations in Calgary, Airdrie, Cochrane and Okotoks. The club decided that we didn't have the resources to continue making hampers on an ongoing basis.

The remaining profits were donated to three organizations that had commercial kitchens and welcome volunteers to help prepare and distribute food to those in need.

Our search identified three organizations that we have focused on: Made by Momma, Soup Sisters, and Brown Bagging for Calgary Kids were the subject of our grant request.

A year later are looking forward to continue to make more of a difference in our community . .. Food insecurity.
