THEIR LIVES ENDED. THEIR LOVE DIDN’T. 🌈🐾

For Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day, our community helped us honour the pets we’ve loved and lost — through their names, photos, stories and memories.

And together, those memories raised $1,580. ❤️

🐾 $790 will help animals currently in our care.
🌈 $790 will go into our K.A.R.M.A. Fund — Keeping Animals Remembered, Memories Alive.

In rescue, we could have added far too many names of our own this year. It has been heartbreaking. But this helped.

Because somehow, grief became remembrance.
Remembrance became action.
And the animals we miss are now helping save the ones still here.

Karma’s memory started something years ago.

Tonight, your pets became part of it too. 🌈❤️

Small became big. Love became legacy.

We truly have the BEST people following this little rescue. 🥹🌈🐾

Earlier today, we shared Vanessa’s comment. She wanted so badly to honour her beloved babies, Taz and Smokey, on our Rainbow Bridge memorial, but after carrying such a heavy vet bill, she simply couldn’t justify another expense.

So we asked if someone might PAW it forward.

And you did. ❤️

Thanks to the kindness of Steven Damas , Darlene Darlene Verschoor Montani and Susan Hutchison , Taz and Smokey have now been SponsFURed and will have their place on our Rainbow Bridge memorial beside all the other deeply loved animals being remembered.

This is exactly what we hoped this memorial would become. Not just names. Not just donations. People helping people honour the animals who meant everything to them.

Vanessa Orend , your babies mattered. They were loved. And now our whole GWGK family gets to remember them with you. 🌈🐾

Some of our beautiful Rainbow Kitties 🌈🐾🩷

We have spent today reading your stories, looking at their faces and trying to create something that feels worthy of the love you still carry for them.

And apparently… we have created so many memorials that we actually maxed out the program. 🥹 We couldn’t leave anyone waiting today, so we paid for the upgrade and kept right on going.

Because this isn’t just making graphics.

This has become a project of pure love. Every name. Every photo. Every story. Every little life that mattered so deeply to someone.

We still have more Rainbow Bridge babies to honour, and we’re going to keep working until we get through them. 🌈

Thank you for trusting us with such precious memories.
They were here. They were loved. They are remembered. 🐾❤️

This one stopped us in our tracks. ❤️🐾

A kitten. FREE with the purchase of cat food.

That was how Satan came into Deb’s family — far too young to be away from his mom. It sounds almost unbelievable now, and yet it’s such a reminder of how far animal welfare has come… and how incredibly far we still have to go.

That tiny kitten grew into a kind, patient boy who helped raise Hunter. He wasn’t a “free kitten” for long. He became family.

And then comes the part we love most.

That little boy beside Satan grew up — and in just the last year, Hunter has adopted TWO kittens from GWGK. Just before that, he had a foster fail with another rescue. His sister has also adopted through GWGK. His mom Deb has adopted through GWGK too… and honestly, at this point, we’ve lost track. 😂❤️

Deb Anstey-Gurney has also become one of Will’s biggest supporters, always cheering him and GWGK on.

One little kitten helped teach a child what it meant to love an animal. Years later, that child is now opening his own home again and again to animals who need one.

We have come so far.

But kittens are still given away too young. Animals are still treated like impulse decisions. Rescues are still overwhelmed. Spay and neuter still matters desperately.

So we celebrate the progress while remembering there is still so much work ahead.

One animal. One child. One family. And a whole lot of good karma passed forward. 🌈🐾❤️

This sweet baby’s person wanted so badly to add their name to our Rainbow Bridge Memorial, but right now they’re carrying a huge vet bill and simply can’t.
