We obtained 2 additional garden beds this year for Prince Charles Park. Our group place ld and filled what we could. We are currently waiting on compost delivery to fill our large bed that makes up our herb garden.

Our veggies were planted the last weekend of May (later season for all Equal Ground planting due to the unpredictible May weather) and we were excited to see them flourish.

SAD -

Someone has entered 2 of the beds on foot and destroyed a bunch if our seedlings before they even had a chance to take hold. They were playing in our unfinished herb garden.

Our volunteers are disheartened.

We are resilient. We will grab more plants and try again.

Please... if you witness vandalism in our parks please notify the police and your Neighbourhood Association. We are all volunteers trying to make a difference in our community. The harvest feeds real people whether needy or not. This is YOUR Community Garden!

We will update when our new plants are placed next week.

Thanks to our dedicated team and our partners Child Hunger Brantford

Celebrating Volunteers everywhere this week. Thank you to those who do, and their families for supporting them!
Last night we were honored to attend the Annual City of Brantford Volunteer Recognition party.
We are missing a couple of our rink guys here, but this is the best turnout so far from the PCNA. And now that we have our established community garden we have a great partnership with Child Hunger Brantford as well!

Thank you to all the great Volunteers in our community!

We got all the banks and perimeter if our big rink (much larger than Harmony Square) cleaned up this morning.
Skaters were already out enjoying the cold, sunny day!
We love watching our community enjoy!

Our rinks are clear, the perimeter outside the fence is clear, and the windrow and a couple of parking spots off of the road are all cleaned up!

Special thanks to the neighbours who helped last night and this morning! And as usual, thank you to our small, but awesome, team of volunteers!

Now we need the snow to stop! Both snowblowers are in need of repair, and it may take some time for us to get them back in running order.

Winter is hitting us hard. Snow removal is always a challenge and 1 if our snowblowers is down.
We will do our best to clear some snow tomorrow and hopefully push back the ever grown banks around the perimeter of our big rink.
As usual we could always use some extra hands tomorrow. Will post a message when our guys are able to get to the park.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Third time's the charm. The Prince Charles neighbourhood rink is officially open and skateable. We have a few ripples where our pad slopes off, but over the coming days, we will strive for perfection!
We had 3 of our shovels disappear from our building. If anyone has extras laying around and can donate them to us, please reach out.

Rink surfaces cleared so we can begin flooding for our 3rd try. Tonight was a solo clear. It was a bit late to line up help.
Interested in volunteering? Let us know!

We were so close to opening our rink, but the weather this week isn't looking good.

Please stay off the rinks and tell your kids to stay off too. People keep walking around the barriers.

We're just gonna leave the snow that's on the surface now and hope we still have a solid base after the rain this week.

No matter what, we're not giving up, even if we have to start over on the weekend.
