OLYMPIANS AS COMMUNITY AMBASSADORS

Brantford has a proud tradition of sporting excellence — from grassroots to the Olympic stage — and we’re thrilled to recognize two hometown heroes who continue to inspire our community.

Claire Scheffel earned a Bronze Medal in Artistic Swimming at the 2024 Summer Games.

Suzanne Paulins, CEO of Swimming Canada, represented our nation’s swim team at the same Games.

Though they couldn’t join us in person, both Claire and Suzanne shared special video messages for our Sport Awards Program — and you can now watch them online!

Watch their videos and celebrate their incredible achievements.

Celebrating Claire Scheffel and Suzanne Paulins Brantford has long been a city where sport thrives — from local gyms and pools to national and international arenas. That spirit was on full display during this year’s Youth Sport Appreciation Week, as we proudly welcomed messages from two Olympic-...

What makes Canada great in sport isn’t just what happens on the Olympic stage — it’s what happens in our local rinks, fields, and courts.

Team Canada is showing the world how excellence, respect, and bravery go beyond the podium. These values start at the grassroots level — in the communities where young athletes learn, grow, and fall in love with sport.

Like Team Canada, the Brantford Sports Council is proud to support safe, inclusive, and barrier-free environments where every young person can play and thrive. We believe that when youth feel welcomed, supported, and inspired. That’s when our community is at its best.
