What an incredible week at OK Carpentry Camp! 🛠️

Last week, students in Grades 7–9 joined us at Grace Baptist Church in Simcoe, some picking up a tool for the very first time!

It was amazing to watch their confidence grow as they built trivets, mountain key holders and even a shed. Who saw that coming? We did 😉, because our students are awesome! 🙌

A huge thank-you to GBC Simcoe & Strodes BBQ & Deli for helping us finish the week with a delicious BBQ celebration. It was the perfect ending to an unforgettable week!

What a great few days of woodworking! 🪚🔨

Our Summer Pop-Up Programs gave students the chance to get hands-on, learn new skills, and create some incredible projects. We were so impressed by the hard work, creativity, and craftsmanship they brought to each build!

A huge thank you to our amazing mentors who took time out of their summer to share their skills and give our students such a great experience. We couldn’t do what we do without you! 🧡

As always GEDSB OK Carpentry Camp was a blast! 🚀
Students built confidence using hammers and drills while bringing their creativity to life through some seriously impressive projects, including trivets, mountain-shaped key hangers, and planter boxes. 🌱⛰️

We’re incredibly proud of their hard work and so grateful for the opportunity to connect, create, and learn alongside young people from our community. Way to build, everyone! 👏

We’re expanding and for the very first time, our hands-on Carpentry and Electrical programs are coming to Cambridge!

These programs give students the opportunity to work with tools, build real projects, build meaningful relationships, explore the skilled trades, and discover just how much they’re capable of creating while working alongside devoted mentors who are experts in their trade.

🔨 Choose Carpentry and turn ideas into something you can hold.

⚡ Choose Electrical and discover the skills and systems that power the world around us.

This is more than a new location, it’s a brand-new opportunity for Cambridge youth to build confidence, develop practical skills and explore a future in the trades.
