See you on Wednesday for Movies in the Park!

We are pleased to partner with the City of Brantford to bring you Movies in the Park this summer. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy a movie under the stars in one of Brantford's beautiful parks at dusk.

Activites include large lawn games, meet and greet with Ward 5 Candidates, popcorn by Lonnie's, a bike repair station with Heron Head Bikes and thank you to the Green Team Brantford for coming out to divert waste during the event.

Are you registered for the Amazing Race?! 🏃‍♀️💪🏼

Why Not City Missions Amazing Race is all about fun, teamwork, and giving back. Think obstacle courses, physical and mental challenges, and teams of 5-10 racing to the finish, all in support of Brantford’s youth through programs like Supportive Housing for Young Parents, Charlie’s Place, and the Why Not Youth Centre.

There’s still time to register as a participant! 🙌 Grab your crew (5-10 people) and get in on the fun.

That’s a wrap on Brantford FireFit Championships 2026! 🏁🚒

Two incredible days at Mohawk Park in the books, and we’re so grateful we got to be part of it. Watching these athletes push through that course all weekend was a serious reminder of just how much firefighters give to keep our communities safe.

Here is a pic of day 2, and you can see our day 1 pic posted yesterday!

Here’s how the waste diversion broke down:

Day 1 we diverted 86%
♻️ 13 recycling
🍂 6 organics
📦 3 paper/cardboard
🗑️ 3.5 garbage

Day 2 we diverted 90%
♻️ 18 recycling
🍂 12 organics
📦 6 paper/cardboard
🗑️ 4 garbage

Weekend total: 88.5% diversion 🙌

For reference, events are considered “zero waste” once they hit 90% diversion with an official third party audit. We’re not that auditor, but landing right around that number this weekend is a huge win for Green Team.

Thank you brantfordfirefighters and FireFit Championships for having us out and building waste diversion into this event. You’re the real champions this weekend both on and off the course. We also really appreciate all the firefit teams & vendor markets for being so kind in working with us as well.

Day 1 of FireFit Championships is in the books! 🔥🚒

Our Waste Champions were out at Mohawk Park helping divert waste while cheering on some of the toughest athletes in the country. Huge respect to every competitor today, your hustle and dedication out there is nothing short of outstanding. Seeing the physical demands of the job up close is such a powerful reminder of what firefighters give to our communities every single day.

Waste diversion so far for Day 1:

🗑️ 3.5 garbage

That works out to about 86% diversion so far! Such an impressive stat for Green Team. Thank you so much to the brantfordfirefighters for including waste diversion at this event, you are the true champions!

We will not be at Beats & Eats tomorrow! Postponed.

Brantford Beats & Eats Event Update: Due to the forecast for inclement weather and the ongoing air quality warning in effect in our area, the City of Brantford, along with its partners and vendors, has made the joint decision to postpone Brantford Beats & Eats, which was scheduled to take place Saturday, July 18, 2026.

As this is an outdoor event, the safety of attendees, volunteers, vendors, and staff is our top priority. A new event date will be announced as soon as it has been confirmed.

We appreciate your understanding and look forward to welcoming everyone to Brantford Beats & Eats at a later date.

We are thrilled to announce we’ve been invited to the Brantford FireFit Championships to divert waste! 🔥🚒 Thank you so much !

Join at Mohawk Park on July 25 & 26 as we help divert waste at this action packed weekend celebrating firefighter fitness. Free to attend, with food vendors, a kids course, and some seriously impressive athletic feats from Brantford’s bravest. 💪

The Green Team crew will be on site keeping the sorting stations running smoothly, and we need Waste Champions to help make it happen! 🌱

This Saturday, July 18th, we’re back at Brantford Beats & Eats in downtown Brantford! 🎶🍔

Last year was our first time at this event and we helped divert 68% of the waste away from landfill, only 6 bags of garbage the whole day! Let’s see if we can top that 🙌🏼

Come find us at the waste stations along Colborne Street & Harmony Square, we’ll be there all day making sure your recycling, organics, and paper end up where they belong

That is why we do a waste audit if we do not have someone at the waste stations. We want to ensure we can have true clean waste, recycling and organic streams! Last year we diverted 78% of waste from Canada Day, what do you think we will get to this year?
