We had a larger group of members helping out Friday night which was nice as we finished alot of the ground work, curb stones, and even a coate of fresh white paint on the tbar ceiling inside. We will be running our ground magnet for a couple weeks at least picking up all the old metal scraps found as we dug up for the pavers. We are all ready for the white dolomite stone to come in on Monday and be spread in the gardens and around the building for a clean look and low maintance. More inside painting next week too.

The last couple of weeks we had the new pavers installed and we've been cleaning up unfinished projects such as electrical, ground work and general cleanup outside before it get sweltering hot. Once these are all completed, we will turn our attention to the air conditioned inside to work on the new ceiling, insulation and lighting.

What a great week! The contractors finished the exterior siding, trim and eve troughs. It's so nice to have the building exterior almost done and looking great. We worked on getting the exterior light fixtures installed and painted the corbels. Also continued digging along the side of the building to install big O drainage pipe and then our last contractor will be installing pavers around the building and adding an entrance pad at both doors to finish off the exterior of the building. Still some yard clean up to do but mostly will be done. Lots of work to do inside from wiring, new ceiling tiles, insulation, led lights, and then once all that is done we still have drywall repair and a fresh coat of sky blue paint plus paint the new doors inside and out. Follow us to keep up to date with all the improvements.

Moving right along with our club renovations. The steel roof is complete and the steel siding is about half done and it's looking great. We chose a textured gray siding accented with textured black trim, sophet and facia. We also upgraded to a board and batten style which hides all the screws and has a more railroad station or building look. The crew did a great job straightening and leveling the walls and roof. So much better looking and will function to dissipate rain as it should. Next week will wrap up the exterior siding, gutters, leaf guards and downspouts. Lots still to complete outside before we move inside. Big O drainage pipe, pavers, lights and paint the corbels and doors. Great progress again this week.

What a busy week. Several projects were on the go throughout the week. New security doors installed with digital pinpad and tap cards, removed the old lights and roughed in the new ones thanks to our electrician and at last, removed the fence on our property that cause some issues with the neighbour's but all came to a wonderful agreement. Also removing the dirt that has built up over the decades around the building to allow for a drainage pipe and gravel as we have had some water seeping over the sillplate during heavy rains. This should fix that. We all worked right through until it was dark and will finish up early this coming week just before the roofers and siding crew comes in. Lots going on with lots getting accomplished and staying on schedule. Great job gentlemen!!!!

The mess continued this week as a great crew helped to remove the remaining ceiling tiles, styrofoam and old ceiling boards that were falling down. We removed all the old abandoned wiring, organized the old junction boxes and lots of cleanup. Some of our local members are taking care of removing all the old materials this coming week. Great progress this week again. Lots more to come. Stay tuned.

Let the renovations begin and with that, also the mess. We finished up wrapping the layout for protection, did some grounds clean up, vacuumed the carpets, removed them and tackled the worst area of the roof that was colapsing inside above our farm scene. Removed some of the panels without damaging the t-bar and proud to say none of the panels fell on the layout or our heads. Alot more work to come in the weeks ahead. Stay tuned.

What an amazing Good Friday work session. 9+ hours of solid work from a great bunch of members preparing the layout for renovation work on the inside of the building. We sorted, removed and carefully packaged all the rolling stock in trays to be recertifed. The scope of work on the inside includes adjusting and painting the t bar, new ceiling tiles with proper insulation above, new LED dimmable potlights above the layout and a fresh coat of wall paint after the drywall repairs are complete. All this prep work is to protect the layout from debris and funnel all the debris down to the ground where it will be frequently vacummed. We made huge progress today and will continue next Friday with the last of the layout and TV coverings, hopefully more outdoor prep for the new board and batten siding and maybe start removing some of the old ceiling tiles. Lots more still to come so stay tuned.
