We’re excited to give local children the chance to learn soccer skills, build confidence, stay active, and make new friends in a fun and supportive environment.

This year, we’re partnering with Ulysse Soccer Training to provide high-quality coaching focused on skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and fun.

Whether your child is new to soccer or looking to improve, this is a great opportunity to get involved and be active in the community.

What a wonderful day for planting! 🌿🦋

The SNA Monarch Butterfly Project is now celebrating 10 years of supporting pollinators and beautifying our community. All of the plants used in this project are grown from native seeds collected and nurtured by Ed Long. These plants require three full years of maturity before they are ready to be planted in the ground — a true labour of love and dedication.

Today, 35 native plants were planted at the entrance to the bike trail near the big fish sculpture, with another 30+ plants scheduled to go into the ground tomorrow at Donegal Park.

This year’s planting included:
🌸 Purple Bee Balm
🌼 Wild Daisies
🌿 Compass Plants
🌺 Prairie Coneflowers

A huge thank you to Ed Long and Barb Walsworth for keeping this incredible project alive for the past decade. Your passion and commitment to protecting monarch butterflies and native species continues to make a lasting impact in our neighbourhood.

Kudos also go out to Darryl Casey and Linda Lannigan for their hard work and dedication getting the plants in the ground today. Community projects like this are only possible because of volunteers who care deeply about our environment and neighbourhood.

Together, we are helping create a healthier habitat for monarch butterflies and pollinators for generations to come. 🦋💛

The SNA had the opportunity to attend the recent presentation for the new Blanche E. Williams Community Centre, and the vision for this facility is truly outstanding.

This first-class complex will feature four full-size gymnasiums designed for both school and community use, with two gyms dedicated to the school until 5:00 PM on weekdays. Built to meet OVA and OBA standards, the facility will position Brantford to host high-level volleyball and basketball tournaments, bringing exciting opportunities to our community.

After more than 20 years of planning and advocacy, it is inspiring to see this long-awaited project becoming a reality. The SNA is excited about the opportunities this new space will create and looks forward to hosting community events beginning November 1, 2026.

A special thank you to Barb Walsworth for her tireless advocacy and dedication over the years. Her commitment has played an important role in helping bring this incredible community asset to life.
