Suicide Prevention Brant What are the Guiding Principles of Su***de Prevention Brant?

Su***de Prevention Brant is comprised of representatives from community organizations in Brantford, Brant and Six Nations to create an awareness of su***de prevention, working in partnership to reduce the incidence and impact of su***de The following principles are foundational to the intent and purpose of the committee:

� Su***de prevention, intervention and post-vention are everyone’s responsi

bility;
� Suicidality is an interaction of multiple factors including biological, psychological and social components;
� Community, health and school based services/programs play equally important roles providing su***de prevention programs;
� Brant is a distinctive community with unique factors influencing su***de rates, overall mental health issues and service delivery;
� Su***de issues impact all ages – there is an ongoing need for prevention, intervention and postvention services/programs.
