For over 30 years, the Manitoba Government and General Employees’ Union brand has been successfully represented by a red box with simple white “MGEU” lettering. The identifier has served the union well, seeing the MGEU through various changes in technology and communications developments over the decades.

Today, we bid a fond farewell to the long-standing logo and are pleased to introduce a new visual identity that provides a nod to the past, while guiding us to the future.

This year’s Annual CUPE Manitoba Convention will be held May 12 - May 15, 2025, in Brandon Manitoba, Treaty 2 Territory.

The First Call for Convention will be sent out to all Affiliated Locals on January 31st, 2025, and will include:
Convention details, registration, hotel booking codes, elections information, details for the Jack Rodie award nominations, and all the details you will need to participate in the 2025 Convention!

In the spirit of United Way Winnipeg's 'Period Promise Drive', MGEU members from Area 3 did their own collection of menstrual hygiene products on November 13th to donate to the Brandon Bear Clan.

Shoutout to the MGEU Women's Committee for spearheading this initiative, and their Area 3 representative, Dana Troke pictured here.

The MGEU is proud to announce a donation of $25,000 toward Rainbow's Place of Pride 2SLGBTQ+ campus.

"With thousands of members who identify as part of the 2SLBGTQ+ community, and our continuing efforts to engage with equity-denied groups, this donation felt like the right fit for us. We're working hard to create safe and welcoming spaces for all members, so we recognize the value of what Rainbow is doing by creating with their Place of Pride campus," said Kyle Ross, MGEU President.

Rainbow isasking the community to invest $12 million to complete Phase 2 of Place of Pride – the programming, service and connection spaces.
