Snow is ready for adoption 🐾🐾🐾💕💕💕

Here is a bit of a backstory:
Snow came from a feral colony in Rossburn, MB, and he was the last and most elusive of the colony to be caught. He would not go into a trap because he had been trapped before, by the town twice, and had broken out of the trap. Drew helped by feeding him in a dog kennel on his deck until eventually he was able to close the door. We met up, and I brought Snow back to Pawing it Forward. I worked with him for months before his aggression was gone, but he was still very cautious of people, and that is where Leni Harriet came in. She fostered Snow and gave him the one-on-one, constant attention as only she can! 💕🐾

Here is what his foster mom says about him:
Snow, aka Snowbear, Snowmachine, Snowbody, Snowman (yes, he is the cat of a thousand nicknames), is one of a kind. Having started as a feral who would not be touched, this gentleman took his time accepting people as trustworthy, but now, all he wants is love. He will absolutely let you paint him like one of your French girls if
It ends with a session of brushing.

While he only has three and a half legs, he does not let this slow him down at all! He can be as quiet as an owl when trying to get out of the cat room, or as thunderous as an elephant when he is playing with his toys.

Snow is likely never going to be a lap cat, but when the brush comes out, he starts writhing closer and closer to get more of the good stuff.

Since going on his special diet, he has been the picture of perfect health.

I would love to keep him, but I already have a cat on a special diet to keep separate from the cats on normal food, and I just can’t guarantee Snow wouldn’t get into the regular cat food.

He is not food-motivated, and while he hates having his nails trimmed, he keeps his scratching to his scratching toys and never uses them on people.

Being a clever boy, though, he has figured out how to hook his crooked leg around a wrist to ensure the petting and brushing can’t stop!

Snow is a charmer and will be a devoted friend to the perfect family. He is keen on other cats but hasn’t been around dogs in a while. He is looking for a calm home where someone will brush him for hours at a time.

This pretty girl is Penny, another kitty brought to me by Alicia a few months back. She was extremely scared and would hiss and take swipes at me.

I petted her with the brush on a stick for a while and could see that even though she was scared, she enjoyed it. Eventually, I was brave enough to try with my hand.

Though Penny remains scared and hissy, she has stopped swatting at me and now permits me to pet her head and the back of her neck.

She is not quite comfortable enough to let me pet her body, but I'm certain that with a little more time, pets, and lots of love, she will come around in no time.

This handsome ginger boy is Moxie, and he has been with us for a year and a half. He was brought to us by Annette Leclair and he was extremely feral! He would charge the kennel door when it opened, and it was really hard to clean his litter and feed him.

He has been very slow to come around. He eventually allowed petting with the brush on a long stick, but getting hands on him was impossible.

Recently, we have been able to actually pet him, but although he absolutely loves it, he can still be unpredictable. He seems to get overstimulated and gets a little too rough. I don't think it will be much longer before he can be handled without any issues.

Moxie is not available for adoption yet, but I believe that is going to change soon!

This beautiful girl is Diva (previously Bubbles), and she has been with us for about 6 months. She was quite feral when she got here, but I could see that she was just a sweet, shy girl under all the growling and hissing.

Once Diva learned to trust me, she wanted out of her kennel and would do anything to escape. She was still nervous of people, but was miserable in the kennel, so she was released into the shop with the shop dog to meet more people. She absolutely loves the shop dog, Radar, but is still nervous of new people; however, she is very food motivated.

She does have a bit of a runny eye and is getting eye drops twice daily. She has been spayed, fully vaccinated, and tested negative for FeLV and FIV.

Diva is ready for adoption if the purrfect family with a quiet home would be willing to give her a chance. If you have a dog with a calm temperament, she would love that.

If you are interested in meeting or adopting Diva, please fill out an adoption application or contact us with any questions.

These 2 kitties are Milo & Dylan. They came to me in February of this year from Alicia Hoemsen.

Milo was extremely feral; my friend nicknamed him "Mean Mike". He would charge at us when we would open the kennel, and would stomp his paws and hiss. He would scare the crap out of us, and no one else would go near him but me.

Dylan was very scared, and he used aggression to keep everyone away. I wasn't allowed to touch anything in his kennel without him trying to claw me for a long time.

These boys were in kennels beside each other and made fast friends. They just needed love and patience, and a few months to come around. When I felt that both were ready, they were moved out to the shop for a while, where they met lots of people coming and going, as well as the shop dog. Once they handled all the new people well, they became house cats and now hang around with my cats and dogs, waiting for the purrfect family to find them.

Milo is a big suck and would do anything for attention, and Dylan is such a character! These boys are now a bonded pair and are never far apart. They will need to be adopted together. Both boys have been neutered, fully vaccinated, and tested negative for FIV and FeLV. If you are interested in Milo and Dylan, please fill out an adoption application or contact us with any questions.

Dizzy came through his neuter with flying colours. His SNAP test came back negative, so he has none of the contagious diseases some street cats catch.

: Today, shy Lil Dizz (Dizzy) is receiving the best care possible from vet services thanks to and her sweet baby Melvin.

This distinguished gentleman was her companion for 18 years, since he was just a kitten. He recently lost his battle with kidney disease, but is fondly remembered as a sweet baby with two joys in life: cuddling and eating.

Our hearts go out to Kristin in shared sorrow but also deep gratitude that she is choosing to remember Melvin by helping another black cat. Dizzy is lucky to have Kristin here helping and Melvin watching over him. Thank you, and Melvin, from all of us here at Pawing it Forward and especially from Dizzy. ❤️

Some of you may remember when the sent out a call a couple of weeks ago asking for help saving two cats with no time left. We stepped in with a promise to help Dizzy, and today, he takes his first step in becoming a happy house cat. Thanks to his initial vet check and neuter are sponsored, so it was an easy yes for us and he is currently visiting vet services for his check up and neuter.

Sadly, the sponsorship is in memory of one of Kristin’s own fur babies. Please watch for that tribute to come next.
