May kept us busy in the best way!

Through MentorAbility Manitoba at Career Connections Inc. we spent the month exploring careers, building connections, and creating opportunities to learn something new.

From mentorship experiences and speaker series sessions to a behind the scenes museum tour with the Brandon General Museum and Archives and a creative art workshop with Hannah De Los Reyes, May gave us a lot of moments worth celebrating.

One of the best parts of this work is seeing confidence grow in real time. Sometimes it starts with one conversation, one question, or one experience that helps someone see a new path a little differently.

A huge thank you to everyone who mentored, partnered, participated, and welcomed us into your spaces throughout May. We are excited to keep the momentum going and cannot wait to see what is ahead 😄

Not all career paths look the same and that is kind of the point 👀
One day you could be learning about preserving local history at a museum. The next, exploring careers in the electrical field with Manitoba Hydro. That is what we love about MentorAbility Manitoba at Career Connections Inc., there is always something new to discover!

A little glimpse into what mentorship can look like ✨

Through MentorAbility Manitoba at Career Connections Inc. we recently explored some very different career paths, from creativity in the arts with Hannah Delos Reyes Fine Arts to administrative experiences with the Brandon University Students' Union (BUSU).

What we love most about mentorship is that no two experiences look the same. Sometimes it is hands on, sometimes it is workplace tours and real conversations, but it always starts with curiosity.

A huge thank you to everyone who shared their time, experience, and welcoming spaces with us. We love seeing people explore what is possible!

Creativity looks a little different for everyone 🎨
Today, through MentorAbility Manitoba at Career Connections Inc., we are excited to be hosting an Art Mentorship Workshop with Hannah De Los Reyes!
This workshop is all about creativity, career exploration, and getting a behind the scenes look at what a path in the arts can actually look like. From hands on art activities to real conversations, it is a chance to explore, ask questions, and think a little differently about what is possible ✨

April was a busy month in the best way!

Through MentorAbility Manitoba at Career Connections Inc. we spent the month building new connections, creating opportunities, and having some really meaningful conversations along the way.

From workshops and community collaborations to new mentorship matches and mentors joining the network, it has been amazing to see people showing up, getting involved, and trying new things. There were a lot of first conversations, new experiences, and moments where people stepped a little outside their comfort zone and that is something worth celebrating!

One of the best parts of this work is watching confidence grow in real time. Sometimes it starts with a simple conversation, a workshop, or someone deciding to say yes to an opportunity they normally would have talked themselves out of.

A huge thank you to everyone who partnered, participated, supported, and spent time with us throughout April! We are really excited to keep building on this momentum together and cannot wait to see what the next few months bring!

The way we talk to ourselves matters more than we think.

This next Life Coaching session with Jess from Roots of Six tomorrow is all about that inner voice, the one that can either hold you back or help you move forward.

Through MentorAbility Manitoba at Career Connections Inc. we are creating space for real conversations like this. Not just about careers, but about confidence, mindset, and figuring things out in a way that actually feels doable.

Jess brings such a real and relatable approach to this work. It is not about having everything figured out, it is about understanding your thoughts, catching that voice that says “you are not ready yet,” and learning how to shift it.

We set up at Assiniboine College today and ended up having some really good conversations.

Through MentorAbility Manitoba with Career Connections Inc. we spent time connecting with students, talking about what mentorship can actually look like, and how there are simple ways to start exploring different career paths without it feeling overwhelming.

A big thank you to April and the Assiniboine College Students’ Association for having us. It is always nice to be in a space where people are open, asking questions, and just figuring things out.

Game design is not just playing games and we got to see that firsthand yesterday.

Through MentorAbility Manitoba at Career Connections Inc. we had the chance to connect with Ryan Fitzgerald from Ubisoft and get a real behind the scenes look at what working in the gaming industry actually looks like. Not just the fun side, but the thinking, the problem solving, and everything that goes into it.

Ryan brought a lot of humour into the conversation, which made it easy for everyone to relax and just be part of it. You could feel the shift as it went on, people got more comfortable, the questions got better, and the conversations became more real.

That is what these experiences are all about.

MentorAbility Manitoba through Career Connections Inc. has partnered with Roots of Six founder Jess Raupers to bring Life Coaching sessions to our community.

This is more than just a session. It is a chance to pause, reflect, and gain real clarity on where you are and where you want to go next.

If you’ve been feeling stuck, unsure of your direction, or just need space to think things through, this is for you. These sessions are about building confidence, finding alignment, and taking meaningful steps forward.
There’s already been a lot of interest and we’re really excited to bring this opportunity to more people in our community!
