Tomorrow is the big day- the start of a four day bioblitz using the iNaturalist app to observe wildlife around Brandon

The City Nature Challenge is an annual event organized with iNaturalist. Communities across the world can create a project to document species observed around their area at the end of April. This is the fifth year that Brandon has taken part! Join the project at https://www.inaturalist.ca/projects/city-nature-challenge-2026-brandon-area and submit your own observations around the city from April 24th to the 27th!

We'll be hosting a walk on the second day of the challenge, April 25th, at the Assiniboine Food Forest. Meet at the turnaround near the entrance to the food forest. Bring your phone with iNaturalist or Seek installed to document observations out on the trail, or take photos and upload them later. The walk will be around 1.5km. Also, it's maple syrup season, if you're interested in seeing the operation there!

No sign up is required for this event, though there will be a waiver to sign.
