Free Tax Clinic in Sudbury, ON

The Nepalese Society of Sudbury (NSS), in partnership with NRN Canada, successfully organized a Free Tax Clinic in Sudbury, Ontario, last Saturday. This initiative aimed to assist newcomers, individuals, and families file their taxes efficiently and accurately, ensuring they receive the benefits and refunds they are entitled to.

The Nepalese Society of Sudbury (NSS), in partnership with NRN Canada, is hosting a Free Tax Clinic tomorrow, April 19, 2025, to assist newcomers and low-income individuals under the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP).

NRN Canada Treasurer, CPA Bidhya Bhushan Karki, and his team are providing the clinic with technical expertise.

This initiative aims to ensure that eligible individuals receive professional assistance in completing their tax returns accurately and on time while accessing various government benefits and credits.

The clinic will be facilitated by trained volunteers who are knowledgeable about the Canadian tax system and dedicated to serving the community.
By providing free tax filing services, we continue our commitment to empowering and supporting the Nepalese community in Canada.

The Nepali New Year 2082 was celebrated in Barrie, Ontario, with a flag-raising ceremony in front of City Hall

Councillor Craig Nixon read the official proclamation on behalf of Mayor Alex Nuttall, recognizing and appreciating the valuable contributions of the Nepalese community in Barrie.

Local residents and community representatives, including Nitesh Shrestha (member of the NRN Canada Ontario Provincial Committee), student Suman Sharma, entrepreneur Bablu Kandel, community leader Punya Sagar Marahatta, and NRN Canada Vice President Kiroj Shrestha, spoke at the event. They highlighted the significance of the Nepali New Year and expressed gratitude to the City of Barrie for honoring the occasion by raising the Nepali flag. The event was emceed by Roshani Shrestha.

NRN Canada General Secretary Chandra Adhikari, Treasurer Bidhya Bhushan Karki, and Spokesperson Shushil Raj Bhushal were also present at the event.
