Good afternoon, I am YULEISI. My accident happened when I was 5 years old. I burned my face, arms, and hands with hot water. I was hospitalized at the Children's Hospital and I was discharged after a year of treatment. Afterwards, the Aniquem Clinic supported me with masks, mesh nets, psychological therapies, and CAFA paid for my tickets when my mom and I traveled from the province to the capital for my checkups and operations. I am also very grateful to CAFA for paying my college studies. I have already completed my degree as a pharmacy technician. I have a profession and a job. Thanks to that, now I am studying to become a psychologist. I deeply appreciate for the support of ANIQUEM and CAFA. I continue to achieve my dreams and goals. Thank you very much.

Buenas tades, soy Yuleisi. Mi accidente sucedió cuando tenía 5 años de edad, me quemé con agua caliente, cara, brazos y manos. Estuve hospitalizada en el Hospital de Niño, donde me dieron de alta después de un año de tratamiento. Después la Clínica Aniquem me apoyó con máscaras, también con mallas y terapias psicológicas, y CAFA con el pago de pasajes cuando iba con mi mama de la provincia a la capital para tener mis controles y operaciones. También estoy muy agradecida con CAFA por apoyarme con el pago de mis estudios. Ya terminé mi carrera de Técnico en Farmacia, tengo un título y un trabajo. Ahora gracias a mi profesión y trabajo puedo seguir estudiando para ser Psicóloga. Me siento muy agradecida por el apoyo de Aniquem y CAFA, sigo logrando mis sueños y metas.

How was camp? From the campers...

- Jadhira : I am 16 years old. I really liked the camp because I got to meet many people who made me feel confident in myself.
- Jadhira :“Tengo 16 años. Me ha gustado el campamento porque conocí muchas personas las cuales hicieron que me sienta segura de mí misma.”

- Jemina: I have a fun at the camps because it allows me to play games and meet people that have gone through similar experiences and this helps me understand that I should not feel embarrassed about my scar.
- Jemina : “En todos los campamentos la he pasado muy bien porque hacemos juegos y también puedo conocer a gente que ha pasado por lo mismo que yo y también me ayuda a comprender que no debería avergonzarme de mi cicatriz.”

Camper comments on the 24th camp: “I will keep the moments at camp in my heart. I am not considered a very sociable person, but at camp I really feel accepted. It's a place where I am able to make good friends and appreciate it a lot!” ........ “ ..esos momentos los guardare en mi corazon.. yo me considero una persona no muy sociable, pero en cada campamento siento que realmente encajo con todas las demas. Es un lugar en donde tengo amistades sinceras y que aprecio un monton”.

“…I believe that good people exist because of you, because you have made all this (camp) possible. I hope one day I will be able to help many kids like you have done”…. “... yo creo que las buenas personas existen gracias a ustedes, porque por ustedes todo esto es posible. CAFA celebrates another successful burn camp - number 24 - in support of young ANIQUEM patients! 48 kids had an amazing experience thanks to the efforts of Aniquem staff and volunteers......CAFA celebra otro exitoso campamento - el número 24 - en apoyo a los jóvenes pacientes de ANIQUEM. 48 niños vivieron una experiencia increíble gracias al esfuerzo dl personal y los voluntarios de Aniquem

In October 2025 CAFA sponsored a ‘mini’ camp for younger CAFA supported patients ( aged 3-8) and their mothers. The 2 day camp was held in a club in the countryside, where the children enjoyed supervised games and crafts, learning social and physical skills. The mothers had group sessions in a supportive environment with the ANIQUEM psychologist to help them deal with their own problems and create the foundation for a better family relationship. Pool time, great meals and comfortable cabins added to the fun! .............En octubre de 2025, CAFA patrocinó un 'mini' campamento para pacientes más jóvenes apoyados por CAFA (de 3 a 7 años) y sus madres. El campamento de dos días se celebraba en un club del campo, donde los niños disfrutaban de juegos y manualidades supervisadas, aprendiendo habilidades sociales y físicas. Las madres tuvieron sesiones grupales en un entorno de apoyo con la psicóloga de ANIQUEM para ayudarlas a afrontar sus propios problemas y crear las bases para una mejor relación familiar. ¡El tiempo en la piscina, las excelentes comidas y las cabinas cómodas añadieron diversión!

Yossi

At 15 years Yossyilives with her single mother in some rented rooms in a town about 1 1/2 hours by bus from Chiclayo. She was burned while working in the fields near her home, and caring for a young child at the same time. The child threw a container of gasoline toward her and the resulting fire burned her legs. Mom works long hours in the market in Chiclayo and does not have a good relationship with her daughter. However they both are doing their best to get to the treatment available in the ANIQUEM clinic in Chiclayo, made possible by the CAFA transport program, so that Yossi can get the therapy she needs.

A los 15 años, Yossi vive con su madre soltera en cuartos alquilados en un pueblo a aproximadamente una hora y media en autobús de Chiclayo. Yossi sufrió quemaduras mientras trabajaba en el campo cerca de su casa, al mismo tiempo que cuidaba a un niño pequeño. El niño arrojó un recipiente con gasolina hacia ella y el fuego resultante le quemó las piernas. Su madre trabaja largas horas en el mercado de Chiclayo y no tiene una buena relación con su hija. Sin embargo, ambas están haciendo su mayor esfuerzo para asistar al tratamiento disponible en la clínica ANIQUEM en Chiclayo, gracias al programa de transporte de CAFA, para que Yossi pueda recibir la terapia que necesita.
