Tomorrow, September 30, REST Centres will be closed in observance of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
We honour the children who never returned home, Survivors of residential schools, and their families and communities. We recognize that reconciliation calls for continued listening, learning, and action.
Our team has shared closure information and support options with the youth we serve ahead of the day. Regular services will resume on October 1.

Every family experiences moments when communication becomes difficult, relationships feel strained or it becomes harder to understand one another. Families should not have to navigate those moments alone.
REST Centres invites Black families with teens and young adults ages 14–24 to join our FIRM Family Table Series—a supportive, judgment-free space where families can reconnect, strengthen communication and learn practical ways to navigate conflict together.
Each evening will include:
Dinner together
A professionally facilitated family conversation
Practical tools for communication and conflict resolution
An engaging family activity
September 25, October 23, November 20 and December 11
6:00–8:30 p.m.
Through FIRM, REST Centres is helping to strengthen families and address challenges early as part of our work to prevent family breakdown, youth housing instability and homelessness.
Space is limited to 25 families, and families are encouraged to participate in the full four-session series.

Good food, big energy, and even bigger community! 
REST BBQ in collaboration with Our Place Peel was a day filled with laughter, friendly competition, creativity, and connection. From the kids getting creative with paint and the team preparing the BBQ , to staff races, team challenges, games, and plenty of cheering. There was never a dull moment!

A huge thank you to everyone who came out, participated, competed, volunteered, and helped make the day such a memorable one.

From finding support to supporting others. 💚
When Keiyon first connected with REST, he was navigating housing uncertainty, financial challenges, and the possibility of homelessness. With support, guidance, and connections, he found greater stability and began looking beyond survival toward what he could build.
Today, Keiyon is using his passion for cooking to help lead REST’s Home Economics cooking class and connect with other youth. His journey is a reminder that when young people have someone to turn to, doors can open and new possibilities can take shape.
