Schulich Family Medicine Teaching Unit is an academic family medicine clinic, located inside the Humber River Health, Wilson Site. This family medicine teaching unit (FMTU) is affiliated with the University of Toronto and is a core training site for family medicine residents, medical students, and inter-professional health care students. Patients of this clinic are provided high quality primary care, and learners are trained in a socially accountable, community based program. In a society where 1 out of every 3 Ontarian is in need of a family doctor we are honoured this year to donate $22,136.00 to Humber’s FMTU. The Complex Care program at SickKids provides centralized, comprehensive care for children with complex, chronic health needs. The program provides a holistic, wrap-around care, addressing the unique needs of each child and their family. By partnering with satellite clinics across Ontario, the program extends its reach to families who do not have the ability to travel all the way to SickKids.
