The Run takes place at the Kennedy Entrance (Gate 1) of the CAA Centre (7575 Kennedy Rd S, Brampton, ON L6W 4T2). Gate 3 will be closed due to construction and parking is unavailable at the Gate 3 entrance. Parking attendants will be onsite to direct participants to available gravel parking lots. Please follow the directions of the attendants so we can all have a safe and positive start to the day!

Pink Pals started in 2005 with just five participants.

Breast cancer had already affected nine women in Lynda’s family. That number has since grown to 12.

For more than two decades, Pink Pals have never missed a Run, walking through rain, snow and sunshine.

Then, in the team’s 20th year, Lynda herself was diagnosed with breast cancer.

After a double mastectomy, she walked that year just one week into radiation. The following year, she became Brampton’s Hope speaker.

“The end of treatment or a surgery doesn’t necessarily mean the end of the journey.”

And now another generation is joining her. Lynda’s five-year-old daughter Lily will participate in her sixth Run this October.

For Pink Pals, the finish line has never really been an ending.

In 2012, Kelly had completed chemotherapy and was still undergoing immunotherapy when she signed up for her first CIBC Run for the Cure.

Her family came with her.

Nine family members and friends participated that first year, including Kelly’s son, niece and nephew, then just 12, 10 and 13.

As they left that first Run, Kelly’s husband said something that stayed with the family: “We should have been doing this Run even before you were diagnosed.”

They kept coming back.

This October will be Kelly’s Front Runners’ 15th Run and the family’s 10th year on the Brampton organizing committee.

And those three children?

They are now adults. One serves as Site Lead, another is Brampton’s Run Director, and Kelly’s son organizes an annual golf tournament fundraiser for the cause.

Fifteen Runs later, the next generation is helping carry it forward.
