With a very full heart, we want to say thank you.
Together, we successfully completed our third DAY OF CARE — and, as it was beautifully brought to our attention, our first anniversary as well.
That is no small thing.
DAY OF CARE exists because people choose to show up. Not because they have to. Not because the work is easy. But because memory matters. Because grief deserves tending. Because life deserves celebrating. Because care, when made visible, becomes something powerful.
To our leadership team: thank you.
You carried planning, safety, logistics, communication, welcome, accessibility, first aid, registration, setup, teardown, problem-solving, and a thousand invisible details that most people may never see — but that made the entire day possible.
To every volunteer steward who showed up with open hands and open hearts: thank you.
You gave your most valuable assets- your time, and your energy, patience, and your care to the Toronto AIDS and Trans Memorial grounds. You helped tend memory. You helped honour grief. You helped celebrate life. You helped make care visible.
To every person, business, community group, and organization that donated financially or in kind: thank you.
Whether you gave funds, tools, gloves, bags, safety supplies, first-aid resources, printing, fundraising items, logistical support, professional services, food, materials, encouragement, or your platform — your generosity became part of the work itself.
Thank you to everyone who helped make DAY OF CARE possible through donations, sponsorship, community fundraising, supplies, equipment, and quiet acts of support.

And to anyone whose name I may not have captured here with the fullness it deserves: please know this gratitude includes you. Some gifts arrive with banners and receipts. Some arrive in the form of a ride, a message, a tool, a steady hand, a calm presence, or someone simply saying, “I’m here. How can I help?”
All of it mattered.
Peter Morris, spokesperson for PWA Toronto, called our leadership and volunteer stewards "heroes" — and that recognition belongs to every person who helped carry this day into being.
Not because everything was perfect. Not because the day was effortless. But because you chose care. You chose community. You chose remembrance. You chose to help look after sacred ground.
That is what DAY OF CARE is.
A day to care.
A community that remembers.
A living act of love.
We could not have made the DAY OF CARE a success without you.
