🎉 The Grand Parade Fundraising Has Officially Begun! 🎉

Today, Grace Court kicked off our fundraising campaign for The Grand Parade Brampton! 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️

And we’re already off to a fantastic start — 28% of our $20,000 fundraising goal has been raised! That’s $5,550 toward our goal. 🙌

We’re also grateful to the Brampton and Caledon Community Foundation and the Rotary Club of Bramalea for their generous grants that helped Grace Court purchase a new sound system. 🎤🔊

This year, proceeds from the Grand Parade will help us convert bathtubs to walk-in showers in Grace Court apartments. These important accessibility upgrades will reduce the risk of falls and help our seniors remain safe, independent and in their own homes for as long as possible. 💙

"Not to say we’ve not had the odd fire started by a drill battery or a cellphone or computer battery, but those numbers pale in comparison to what we have seen in micromobility devices....
we have seen lithium-ion batteries and e-bike batteries attached to them explode, go into thermal runaway and within 90 seconds the unit or room of origin is in flashover. That used to be five minutes 10 years ago."

At Grace Court mobility devices are not allowed in units. If you are visiting a senior, do not bring it into the building, elevators, hallways, or the resident’s unit. 90 seconds is difficult for you to escape, but impossible for a senior.
