Looking for a fulfilling volunteer experience that you can fit into YOUR schedule? The Bradford Community Meal is looking for cooks, prep and serving volunteers. Seven Teams cook on a rotating schedule. That means your turn comes up only every seventh week or eight weeks if we can add a new team! BRADFORD WEST GWILLIMBURY COMMUNITY INITIATIVES PROMOTES FOOD FOR ALL

BWG Community Initiatives will hold their Annual General Meeting for 2018 at the Bradford United Church, 66 Barrie Street, Wednesday November 21, 2018 @ 7:30pm.

Elections of directors for the Board of BWGCI will also take place that evening.

All volunteers, donors and individuals interested in promoting the group’s mandate to make healthy, affordable food available to all residents of Bradford are urged to attend and perhaps consider nomination to the Board of Directors. Candidates for the positions of directors are encouraged to come forward to continue the Community Initiatives’ work.

BWG Community Initiatives is entering its fifteenth year of running the Community Meal. Operating out of the Bradford United Church, the group serves, on average, thirty persons with a hot meal on Friday evenings at no charge. The BWGCI is entirely funded through generous donations from local churches, service groups and individuals.

The organization has expanded its outreach to promote Community Gardens here in Bradford. Many Canadian municipalities have adopted the practice as a way to promote healthy eating, outdoor exercise and a way to meet neighbours and build strong social networks.
