Habitat for Humanity Ontario Gateway North Find furniture, décor, appliances, building materials, books & more, and support Habitat builds! Open for shopping: 10 am - 5 pm Monday through Saturday.

Effective October 8, 2026: Open for donations: 9 am - 4 pm Monday through Saturday. Habitat Restores sell new and gently used quality household and building products, with ReStore sales helping to cover administrative costs of the affiliate. Products that might otherwise needlessly end up in landfills are purchased by builders, contractors and the general public. ReStores sell everything from furnishings and lighting, to sporting equipment, home décor and art – not just building supplies.

- Proceeds support Habitat’s goal of building affordable homes for low-income families.
- ReStore sales ensure donated dollars go directly to building more
homes in each community in the region.
- ReStores are open to the public which benefits the wholesalers,
retailers and individuals who donate products, as well as consumers
who purchase those products at a reduced cost.
- Habitat ReStores are staffed mainly by volunteers, and also work
closely with community organizations and schools to provide learning
and workplace experience. Every ReStore is different, offering a unique shopping experience for Canadians seeking to add something new to their home. The inventory is always changing as it is dependent on the generosity of corporate and private donors. Items are donated daily so each trip will bring you something new.

A little moment with Jane and Tristan from our Art Event at the Bracebridge ReStore.

Between the hard work and busy days, there’s always room for a laugh and a shoulder to lean on. The friendships we build here are a big part of what makes this place special.

We love the work we do and the people we get to do it with..❤️🏠

The District Municipality of Muskoka, Greystone Project Management Inc., the Town of Bracebridge, and Habitat for Humanity Ontario Gateway North came together at the site of the former Memorial Arena in Bracebridge to break ground on a 103-unit affordable housing complex, including 25 affordable units.

Slated for completion in 2028, the development will offer a mix of market-rate and affordable rental housing. Owned and operated by Habitat for Humanity Ontario Gateway North, the four-storey building will include 21 units, accommodating up to 45 residents. Planned as a family-friendly residence, the building will feature studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom units.

This is great news for a community that has a significant need for rental housing and affordable accommodation.

Together we build community. Community starts with breaking new ground.

When is a donation not a donation?

A used mattress is never a donation. Our ReStores do not accept used mattresses. Ever. This picture tells you why.

Any item left outside our ReStore after donation drop-off hours is not a donation. Once left outside, that item is exposed to the elements, insects, and worse. It quickly becomes unsaleable and, instead, we’re forced to pay tipping fees to dispose of it.

Those disposal costs take funds away from supporting our build program, which is exactly what our ReStore social enterprise exists to do.

Please help us make the most of every donation by following our donation guidelines and only leaving accepted items during designated drop-off hours.

For a list of acceptable donations, visit https://habitatgatewaynorth.com/acceptable-items/

🚨PLEASE NOTE: Temporary Pause on Donation Drop-Offs

The generosity of our community has been incredible. Thank you! ❤️
To help us safely process the large volume of donations we've received, donation drop-offs will be temporarily paused on Tuesday, October 6th and Wednesday, October 7th.

Our processing and storage areas have reached capacity, and this brief pause will give our team time to sort, organize, and prepare items for the sales floor while maintaining a safe environment for our staff, volunteers, customers, and donors.

🛒 Good news! Our ReStore remains OPEN for shopping! Stop in to discover great finds while supporting Habitat for Humanity Ontario Gateway North's mission to build safe, affordable housing in our communities.

🛋️ Have large furniture to donate? Please give us a call to arrange a pickup. We're happy to schedule collections where possible. 705-646-0106 or athttps://habitatgatewaynorth.com/request-a-pickup/

We expect to resume accepting donation drop-offs on Thursday, October 8th.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support of the Bracebridge ReStore. Your generosity makes a difference!

World Habitat Day is marked on the first Monday of October each year and is recognized by the United Nations as an occasion to reflect on the state of towns and cities and on the basic right of all to adequate shelter. On World Habitat Day, we recognize a simple but powerful belief: everyone deserves a safe and affordable place to call home. 🏠💙

This year’s theme, “Adequate Housing for All,” goes to the heart of who we are. We work to bring people together to help families and individuals build homes, communities, and hope through affordable housing and equity-building programs.

We build brighter futures. Brighter futures start with home.

Donation Hours Are Changing (but not the need for your donations)!

🚨Beginning October 8, our donation drop-off hours will be 9 am –4 pm.

We’re so grateful for the generosity of our donors! With more donations coming through our doors, we want to make sure every item is handled safely and efficiently. That’s why the Bracebridge ReStore will be closing donation drop-off one hour earlier, giving our team the time they need to safely sort and prepare your donations for the sales floor.

Please keep those donations coming! Furniture, appliances, building materials, and quality household items help stock our ReStore and fuel Habitat’s affordable housing work in our communities.

Have something to donate? Bring it our way between the hours of 9 am and 4 pm Monday through Saturday. And thank you. 💙

Canada's National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is a day for all Canadians to recognize and commemorate the legacy of residential schools, where more than 150,000 First Nations, Métis and Inuit children were forced to attend between the 1870s and 1997.

This legacy includes the tragic ongoing recoveries of unmarked and mass graves, the injustices inflicted on Indigenous peoples and the intergenerational trauma and systemic racism that still exists today.

At Habitat for Humanity Ontario Gateway North, we remain committed to learning more about the past actions related to our Indigenous Peoples and the Residential School System in Canada and what each of us, as settlers, can do to enhance understanding and reconciliation.

Thank you to the Government of Canada's Canada Summer Jobs programme and Scott Aitchison, MP for Parry Sound-Muskoka, for supporting youth employment in our constituency. Habitat for Humanity Ontario Gateway North benefited from some outstanding talent this summer, including Taylor, who did a seriously impressive job as our affiliate's Digital Records Administrator.

Taylor's work resulted in lasting improvements in our digital records system and a strong foundation for future record management.

A summer job can build a lot more than a résumé. 🇨🇦
