Say hello to Joey Baratto, one of our very friendly First Mates!πŸ‘¨β€βœˆοΈ
"Spent my entire life on the water at family cottages then progressing to larger yachts on Trent and Lake Ontario. As a resident on Lake Muskoka, I saw the need for a water taxi so when I retired at 55 I started Muskoka Water Taxi. After 6 years of becoming to successful and consuming all of my time I moved on to Captain the Lady Muskoka and Santas sleigh in Bracebridge. After 5 years of tat I fufilled a lifelong dream and started driving the Wenonah and more recently the Segwun. I have been 3 years with the steamship company and enjoying every second!!"

🟠 FIRE DANGER RATING: HIGH 🟠

Due to dry conditions, the fire danger rating is now set to HIGH. If you're planning to burn, use extreme caution, fires can ignite and spread quickly in these conditions. The increased amount of brush on the ground from the recent ice storm can also help a fire spread quickly.

Help keep our community safe by following all burning regulations, never leave a fire unattended, and have a water source available.

NO DAYTIME BURNING is allowed. ❌

The Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) has issued a Flood Outlook bulletin for Bracebridge-Minden-Parry Sound District in effect until March 21. Runoff to local lakes and rivers is anticipated to increase significantly. As a result, water levels and river flows are expected to rise with increased runoff.

Water levels in most lakes are at or below target for this time of year. Higher than normal water levels and flow conditions may develop throughout the area and residents are reminded to exercise caution near fast-moving rivers and streams.

Property owners that have been affected by high water and flow conditions in the past should continue to take necessary action to protect and secure their property.
