Occasionally, we take on special projects, focused on a particular area of history or a special milestone connected to the history of CFB Borden.

Our current project is one for the history books — literally!

Meet the Flakpanzer, a 70-year-old German anti-aircraft tank from WWII that our incredible volunteer team is bringing back to life.

This isn’t just about metal and machinery — it’s about honouring history, remembering the bravery of soldiers, and preserving the incredible stories of the past. Our team comes from all walks of life, united by a love of history and military heritage, working tirelessly to restore this amazing piece of history.

✨ Fun Fact: The Flakpanzer was a technological marvel of its time — a reminder of the challenges soldiers faced against advanced machines in battle.
