Following our Regional Conversation Tourism Gathering in November, we are pleased to announce a subsequent meeting scheduled for Thursday, February 19th, focusing on the development of the Bonavista Peninsula Creative Experiences Stewardship Network (CESN). During this session, we will gather your input on the network’s structure and its anticipated benefits for our arts and culture sector, tourism offerings, and the broader region. The agenda includes an open forum for discussion, through which we will collaboratively establish a plan to move forward.

For those who were unable to attend the November meeting, the following is a brief summary:

We examined strategic priorities for regional tourism and explored opportunities to extend the season by cultivating creative regenerative experiences.

Additionally, we introduced the Bonavista Peninsula Creative Experiences Stewardship Network concept—an initiative centered around a collective of skilled artists, artisans, makers, and creators working alongside tourism operators and local communities. The purpose is to showcase regional talent while fostering knowledge of regenerative tourism and the principles of long-term stewardship.

To receive further information regarding the November Tourism Gathering or our ongoing initiatives aligned with strategic tourism priorities, please contact us via email at

We look forward to seeing you.

We are excited to welcome Celes Davar, experiential and regenerative tourism expert, to join us for a conversation and virtual presentation.

Celes is a Nova Scotia tourism operator and facilitator who has been creating award-winning regenerative tourism experiences for over two decades throughout Canada. His approach has been to work with “non traditional community partners” in multiple destinations to coach them to create “slow travel experiences” that offer surprise, mystery and intrigue while in the company of local storytellers.

As a sustainable tourism leader in Canada, he will share global, national and local insights into why travel and tourism has to change at this time, and how regenerative practices can be easily integrated into visitor experiences that are educational, instructive, and beneficial for visitors and community hosts. Many of today’s travellers are seeking out companies and destinations that offer more sustainable accommodations and visitor experiences.

Celes will share how the www.foodartnature.ca project in the Annapolis Valley in Nova Scotia is having positive regional impacts, and how any region’s tourism stakeholders can collaborate and present their stories as new revenue generating visitor experiences together, hosting guests year-round.

HEY EVERYONE! A REMINDER TO REGISTER FOR OUR "REGIONAL CONVERSATION" ABOUT STRATEGIC TOURISM PRIORITIES

Let's talk about a CREATIVE EXPERIENCES STEWARDSHIP NETWORK for the Bonavista Peninsula.

Connecting people, creativity, and place!

A collaboration that connects artists, artisans, makers, storytellers, entrepreneurs, tourism operators, and community members. A movement that supports season extension and weaves together the voices of local people, the traditions they uphold, and the creativity they express, turning each visitor interaction into an opportunity for learning, appreciation, and stewardship. When creativity and stewardship work together, tourism becomes a force for renewal — enriching both visitors and the communities that welcome them.

Please share and we look forward to seeing you.

We invite you to join us for a regional conversation about strategic tourism priorities for the Bonavista Peninsula. This session is open to tourism operators and organizations, artists, artisans, entrepreneurs, municipalities, and community members interested in tourism development in your community. Everyone plays a key role in the fabric and culture of our region. Please feel free to share this post and encourage others to attend.

We look forward to seeing you.

Beginning in 2018, the Bonavista-Trinity Regional Chamber of Commerce has served as the principal organization responsible for overseeing the development and ex*****on of the Bonavista Peninsula Strategic Tourism Plan. This initiative was formulated under the Strategic Tourism for Areas and Regions (STAR) program administered by the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA). In 2024, through a process involving stakeholder input and consultation, the strategic priorities were re-validated and new opportunities identified.

Through continued funding support from the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, the Department of Industry, Energy and Technology, and the Bonavista-Trinity Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Bonavista Peninsula has an opportunity to become a prime destination for experiential and regenerative tourism, aligning with national, international, and global trends.

PLEASE NOTE - THIS IS A PER PERSON REGISTRATION. IF THERE ARE OTHERS WITH YOUR BUSINESS OR ORGANIZATION WHO WISH TO REGISTER, PLEASE HAVE THEM COMPLETE THE REGISTRATION PROCESS INDIVIDUALLY. FEEL FREE TO SHARE THE REGISTRATION LINK.
