🌿 Volunteers Needed! 🌿
It’s that time of year again — the KLSA is looking for volunteers to help plant native shrubs, trees, and wildflowers along our beautiful shorelines through the Natural Edge Program.

No experience needed — just bring your enthusiasm! We’ll bring all the tools, gloves, and snacks (and lunch if you join for two sites in one day!).

🗓 Planting Schedule:
June 13 (Sat) 9am - Big Cedar Lake
June 13 (Sat) 2pm - Pigeon Lake
June 14 (Sun) 9am - Round Lake (near Havelock)

Each planting takes about 3-5 hours. We plant rain or shine (unless there’s thunder or very heavy rain).

If you’d like to join, email [email protected]. We'll send details for each site. Let’s keep our lakes healthy and beautiful! 💧🌱

Do you live on Cameron, Sturgeon, or Pigeon Lake and want to help support local lake health?

Kawartha Conservation is currently looking for one volunteer on each lake to take part in our Community Science Program.

From May to September, volunteers collect one water sample per month from a designated location. Kawartha Conservation staff will pick up samples and provide new sample bottles at an arranged drop-off location.

The program helps support long-term lake monitoring and provides valuable information about changing environmental conditions across the watershed.
