An Ol’ Fashion Métis Community Fundraiser at Ste. Madeleine’s
Hey everyone, the annual Ste. Madeleine’s Heritage Local Métis Days has been postponed due to MMF’s resources going to fire evacuees.
We’re coming together for a one-day fundraiser this Saturday July 19th, 12 to 7 PM ish, to raise money and gather supplies for our northern neighbours who have had to evacuate because of the fires.

We have been gathering as community for over 30 years, so from our whole hearts thank you. So many of you have stepped up already with ideas, donations and help. We see you and appreciate you.
What to expect:
🔥 Potluck BBQ — families are encouraged to bring what they can for their families. We will have people to barbecue donated hamburgers and hotdogs. Suggested meal donation is $10 or donate what you can. No fires, propane only.
🎻 Activities for all ages: open mic or jam (bring your instruments, we have a PA), jigging, 50/50 draw, door prizes, silent auction, cribbage, horseshoe tournament, kids’ face painting, rock painting, beanbag toss, water games.
🌿 Health and Wellness: We’ll have a sharing circle, gentle sound bath, intuitive healing available, a chance to slow down and care for ourselves while caring for our people. Bring a blanket or chair if you’d like to join in.
🎁 Donation packages: We’re putting together $20 to $30 care packages for evacuees, diapers, wipes, kids’ socks and toys, elder care items, adult hygiene items like deodorant, razors, toothbrushes, tampons and more. Bring items or sponsor a package and your name will go with it.
Specific items we’re needing:
• Food: hamburgers, hamburger buns, hotdogs, hotdog buns, boxes of small bags of chips, pop, water, iced tea, ice, bannock, soup or stew, corn on the cob, bags of potatoes for fries, potato or pasta salads, seasonal desserts, water bottles
• Supplies: paper plates, napkins, cutlery, condiments (ketchup, mustard, relish)
• Equipment: two barbecues, propane tanks
• Kids activities: small toys, craft supplies, face paint
• Sanitation: garbage and recycling bags, soap, rags
How you can help:
Please let us know what you’d like to donate or help with — food, prizes, setup, supplies, propane or helping with activities. Contact Amy to find out what items or supplies are still needed. An e-transfer option will be available for anyone who wants to help that way too.
This gathering is organized by a community volunteer committee, real people helping real people because that’s what we do best. We are committed to full financial transparency and will publicly share all records of money received and where it goes to help our northern families.
Stay tuned for updates and please share to help spread the word.
Miigwetch, Maarsii for showing up for our people. Let’s do this together. ❤️
Thank you to Amy, Annette, Anne, Roger, Randy, Connie, and so many others who have reached out to help in anyway they can!
