⚠️ Community Awareness Notice ⚠️

At approximately 2:30 a.m. this morning, our Country Store experienced a break-in involving three masked individuals. The suspects remained inside the building for approximately one hour before leaving the property.

Based on our review of surveillance footage, one individual arrived first on a bicycle pulling a small trailer and entered the building alone. This individual was later joined by two others who appear to have parked a vehicle near Lovett Road before entering the property on foot. The additional suspects were later seen leaving the area carrying large bags of merchandise.

The suspects targeted specific retail items including Carhartt hoodies/vests/jackets, Blundstones and Muck boots. We also recovered merchandise along the trail behind Coldbrook Foodland, which we believe may have been dropped by the individual leaving the area on the bicycle and trailer.

We are asking the community to be aware of a possible silver sedan, potentially a Hyundai Elantra, observed in the area. The vehicle appeared to have steel winter rims and a passenger-side headlight that was not functioning.

We are actively working with local law enforcement as the investigation continues and are reviewing and strengthening additional security measures across our facility.

If anyone in the area observed suspicious activity overnight or may have surveillance footage from the Lovett Road / Cambridge area, we encourage you to contact local police.

We appreciate the support and concern from our community as we address this situation.

Thank you.

This was our fourth break-in within a 60-day period. To say this is frustrating is an understatement. We rely on donations to operate. The damage caused by the break-ins and the theft of food has a direct impact on our clients and our day-to-day operations. Please contact the RCMP (Kingston Detachment) at (902) 765-3317 or NS Crime Stoppers https://crimestoppers.ns.ca/online-tips/ with any relevant information.
