Like last year, the Take Back the Night Committee is inviting survivors to share their voices in our Take Back the Night 2026 Survivor Booklet.
We welcome stories, poems, reflections, or thoughts from survivors of s*xual violence. Submissions will be compiled into a booklet that will be shared at this year’s Take Back the Night event on Thursday, September 24th at Market Square in Belleville.
This invitation is open to all survivors. We especially want to honour and uplift the voices of those who are too often silenced, including Indigenous survivors, survivors of colour, 2SLGBTQIA+ survivors, survivors living with disabilities, immigrant survivors, youth, s*x workers, and survivors impacted by multiple forms of oppression.
Contributors can choose to remain anonymous or include their name. Confidentiality is a priority and submissions will remain anonymous unless clearly indicated otherwise.
Our hope is that this booklet will provide hope, healing, and a sense of community to all who attend, especially those who have experienced s*xual violence in any form.
Submission Deadline: Thursday, September 17, 2026.
Please Submit to: [email protected]
Take Back the Night is proudly organized by the Sexual Assault Centre for Quinte and District, the Community Advocacy & Legal Centre, Three Oaks Foundation, Red Cedars, Victim Services HPELA and the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Response Program through Quinte Health.
