A Supportive Space for Children Navigating Grief 🧡

Losing someone you love is never easy- especially for a child. Our Children’s Grief Support Group offers a safe, compassionate space for children ages 6–11 who have experienced the expected death of a loved one within the past three years.

This ongoing monthly program provides gentle, activity-based sessions where children can express their feelings, connect with others who understand their experience, and build healthy coping skills in a supportive environment.

Each session begins with a 30-minute shared meal, helping create a sense of comfort, routine, and belonging before activities begin.

✨ This is more than a program, it’s a place where children can feel seen, supported, and less alone in their grief.

📍 Location: Stan Klemencic Care Centre

🖊️ Finding Comfort Through Journaling

When grief feels overwhelming, journaling allows us to gently process emotions and create room for hope and healing. It’s a personal sanctuary where you can honestly explore your feelings, express your thoughts freely, and begin to untangle the heaviness inside. Each entry becomes a step toward acceptance, resilience, and finding light even in difficult times.

We invite you to join our monthly Bullet Journaling Group, a gentle and supportive environment where we’ll come together to:

✨ Explore meaningful journaling prompts
✨ Create space to share and connect
✨ Learn simple strategies to cope with grief

No writing experience is needed, just bring your heart, an open mind, and a gentle willingness to explore. Whether this is your first time journaling or you’re seeking a caring community to share your journey, you’re warmly welcome here.

What an incredible morning at the 2026 Hike for Hospice.

At Centennial Park, our community came together in support of hospice care and grief support services across our region, walking in remembrance, love, and solidarity for those we have lost and those still in care.

Throughout the morning, participants shared quiet moments of reflection, carried memories of loved ones along the trail, and found comfort in being surrounded by others who understand the importance of compassionate end-of-life care. From first steps to final strides, the sense of connection was deeply felt. With more than 140 participants and 19 teams taking part, this year’s Hike became our most successful yet, raising nearly $60,000

We are truly grateful to every walker, donor, volunteer, sponsor, and supporter who helped make this day possible. Your generosity ensures that individuals and families in our community continue to receive compassionate, no-cost care when they need it most.

If you’d like to be part of this impact, donations are still being accepted until the end of this month at https://hikeforhospicequinte2026.raiselysite.com/donate

Every step taken carried meaning. Every contribution made a difference. 💙

Today we take a moment to recognize and celebrate our Personal Support Workers.

PSWs are often the steady presence beside our residents and families. You are the hands that provide comfort and the hearts that bring compassion into every interaction. Your work is deeply personal, and it makes a profound difference in the lives of those we care for every single day.

At Hospice Quinte, you support individuals and families during some of life’s most tender and vulnerable moments. Through your kindness, patience, and dignity in care, you help ensure that each person is treated with respect, comfort, and humanity. Often, it’s the small things: a gentle word, a handheld, a moment of calm that leaves the greatest impact.

On behalf of the entire team, we sincerely thank you. Your dedication, resilience, and compassion do not go unnoticed.
Happy PSW Day and thank you for the incredible work you do every day.💕

May 11-17th we celebrate Nurses Week

Hospice Quinte would like to take a moment to recognize and sincerely thank each of our nurses for the incredible work they do every day.

Your compassion, skill, and unwavering dedication to our residents and their families do not go unnoticed. The comfort, dignity, and support you provide during some of life’s most meaningful moments truly make a lasting difference. You bring not only your clinical excellence, but also kindness and humanity to every interaction.

We are continually inspired by your teamwork, resilience, and commitment to delivering the highest quality of care, and it is a privilege to work alongside such a dedicated group of professionals.
