📢 Labour Day Closure Notice

Sensory Hub Quinte will be closed Monday, September 7th for Labour Day.

Labour Day is a time to recognize and celebrate the contributions of workers and the value of meaningful work and participation in our communities. At SHQ, we are proud to create a space that encourages connection, inclusion, and meaningful opportunities for transitional-aged youth and adults.

We hope everyone enjoys a safe, relaxing, and amazing long weekend! 💜

📝 📅 A Little Booking & Visit Update from Sensory Hub Quinte!

First, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has joined us, supported us, booked a visit, or shared our new space over the last two weeks! We truly appreciate the warm welcome from our community and are so grateful to everyone who has been part of our beginning. 💜

As many families and students prepare to head back to school, we would also like to wish everyone a safe, happy, and successful return to school! 📚

We wanted to share a few things that may help make your visit to Sensory Hub Quinte even more seamless:

✨ Pre-booking is not mandatory, but it is highly recommended if you are hoping to visit on a specific day or at a specific time. Pre-booking helps you secure your spot and allows us to better prepare for your visit.

💳 Prepaid Passes Are Available!
If you are interested in purchasing prepaid visits, we can provide you with a stamped pass card and keep it safely on file here at Sensory Hub Quinte.

This can be especially helpful when someone is supported by different caregivers or support workers. Each caregiver can simply sign off on the card when they arrive, making the process quicker and easier for everyone!

Please note that prepaid passes still require you to book your visit ahead of time so we can ensure space is available.

🧦 A Reminder About Socks
For the comfort, cleanliness, and safety of everyone using our sensory spaces, shoes are not permitted in the sensory rooms.

Please remember to bring socks for your visit! If socks are forgotten, we will have socks available for purchase for a small fee.

🧹 A Friendly Reminder About Our Spaces
We complete regular cleaning and tidying throughout the day and between visits. To help us keep the space welcoming and ready for the next guests, we kindly ask that attendees and their caregivers or support workers help tidy the rooms and leave them as they found them before their visit time is up.

We truly appreciate everyone's help in keeping Sensory Hub Quinte clean, welcoming, and enjoyable for all who visit!

♿✨ Exciting accessibility upgrade!
We’re thrilled to share that our accessible washroom at Sensory Hub Quinte now includes a ceiling track lift system!
This important addition will help provide greater safety, comfort, and accessibility for people who require assistance with transfers.
Accessibility is at the heart of what we are building, and we’re proud to continue making meaningful improvements that help remove barriers and create a more inclusive space for our community. 💜

We would like to send a special thank you to "Amanda", owner of "Minature Memoir" a local small business for her generous donation of some sensory friendly gifts that we added to our opening grab bags for our guests at SHQ. They were a lovely addition and our guests loved them. Thank-you for your kindness Amanda 💜

A Little Temporary Inconvenience — With Something Exciting Ahead! 🎉

This Friday, August 28, Sensory Hub Quinte will still be OPEN, but our accessible washroom will be temporarily unavailable while we make an exciting addition that will create even more accessibility for those who need it! 💜

Our main washroom will remain available, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause for those who rely on our accessible washroom.

We’re excited to share the finished addition with you! The accessible washroom will be back open and ready for use Monday, August 31.
