Please join us in congratulating Charlie and Steve Freeman from Freeman Lumber on receiving the National Fund Development Impact Award, recognizing their exceptional leadership, innovation, and commitment to fundraising.

Through their dedication to the Freeman Farm to Table Dinner, they helped raise more than $208,000 for vulnerable kidney patients in Nova Scotia, increased awareness of kidney disease, and made the event the largest fundraiser of its kind in Atlantic Canada.

Their impact will be felt for years to come.

We are pleased to be attending and presenting at the Canadian Association of Nephrology Nurses and Technologists (CANNT) Conference, hosted at the Delta Hotels St. John’s Conference Centre in the heart of St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador!

Elizabeth Sparkes, Programs Coordinator, and Rosanna Mitchell, Executive Director, of the Kidney Foundation of Canada – Atlantic Branch, are joined by guest speaker Averell Childs, Kidney Health Advocate, for an important conversation about the financial challenges faced by people living with kidney disease.

This year’s conference theme, “Weathering Change: Resilient & Compassionate Nephrology Care,” reflects the importance of compassionate, patient-centred care.

Our presentation, “Financial Burden, Asking for Change, and Direct Patient Impact,” will explore the financial realities of kidney disease and the importance of advocating for meaningful change that makes a difference in patients’ lives.

Be sure to stop by and visit us at our booth in Salon B to connect with our team and learn more about the programs, services, and supports available through the Kidney Foundation of Canada – Atlantic Branch.

We are honoured to contribute to this important conversation and connect with professionals who are working to improve the lives of people affected by kidney disease in Canada.

Good news for the kidney community in Newfoundland and Labrador!

The province has announced an $8.2 million investment in its medical transportation program, making it easier and more affordable for people to travel to vital healthcare appointments.

Improving access to care is a key priority of our National Strategic Framework for CKD, and this investment is an encouraging step toward reducing the challenges many people face while managing kidney disease.
