The Beaverlodge Mural Foundation (BMF) is proud to participate with the Beaverlodge Area Cultural Society (BACS) again this year for our third annual Alberta Culture Days celebration. Events run from 1PM - 5PM Sept 12 & 13.
Beaverlodge Mayor Gary Rycroft will welcome everyone at BACS and then we're off, just a short drive, to unveil a chainsaw carving donated from the Town of Chetwynd, B.C. to the Town of Beaverlodge, AB.
Back to BACS to watch local indigenous residents performing traditional dances. The BMF is again sponsoring a "Paint by Numbers" mural. This year's mural theme is to honor Agriculture Hall of Fame recipient John Alexander Wallace. Throughout his long horticultural career John Wallace continuously strove to find better local plant varieties and through selective breeding was able to develop plant varieties better suited to our Northern Alberta climate. The BMF supplies all paint and brushes, so that the community ‘artist' can fully concentrate on staying within their chosen lines! We've had one artist as young as four years of age, and another, “somewhere in my 80's, and that is all you need to know!!" We invite all ages to participate!
This year the BMF has partnered with the Northwestern Alberta Foundation (NAF) and every $20 donation or larger is eligible for a income tax receipt. I like it when some of my tax dollars stay in my community, supporting endeavors that enhance our community for all of us. Please, consider donating to our community cause.
