Canadians at Juno: A Legacy of Courage

On June 6, 1944, more than 14,000 Canadian soldiers landed on Juno Beach as part of the Allied invasion of Normandy. Facing determined enemy resistance, they fought their way inland and achieved many of their objectives despite suffering significant casualties. The courage, sacrifice, and determination displayed by these Canadians helped secure a foothold in Europe and marked a crucial step toward the liberation of Western Europe. Today, we honour their service and remember those who gave their lives in the cause of freedom.

Spring Clean-up

Recently, cadets from 1626 Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps took part in a spring clean-up at Branch 613 of the Royal Canadian Legion in Beamsville. Supporting community organizations through volunteer activities like this is an important part of the cadet experience and reflects the corps' strong sense of teamwork and community spirit.

This week is Emergency Services Week (May 3–9, 2026), and we’re proud to recognize the incredible work of those who keep our communities safe.

To mark the occasion, our cadets had the opportunity last week to learn directly from local emergency service professionals, including teams from St. John Ambulance and Niagara Regional Police.

Cadets took part in hands-on learning, building basic first aid skills and gaining insight into careers in emergency services and policing.

A big thank you to our visiting professionals for sharing their time, knowledge, and experience with our cadets!

Help Build Tomorrow’s Leaders – Support 1626 RCACC

1626 RCACC is currently running a fundraiser in support of our Cadet program. Cadets is a national youth leadership program that focuses on building confidence, citizenship, teamwork, and valuable life skills. Funds raised will help provide educational and leadership training opportunities for our cadets throughout the year.

We are selling locally produced maple syrup and three different flavours of pepperettes. Orders will be placed as they are received, with our main order going in on Wednesday, March 11th. A limited quantity will also be kept in stock.

If you require a larger quantity, please feel free to contact us at [email protected], and we will be happy to assist you.

Happy New Year from the Officers and Cadets of 1626 RCACC.

Sharpening Skills, Building Confidence: Marksmanship Training at 1626 RCACC!

Over the past two weeks, our cadets have been honing their marksmanship skills using Daisy Air Rifles—a key part of the cadet experience. Marksmanship isn’t just about hitting the target; it’s about focus, discipline, and personal growth.

Through consistent practice, cadets learn patience, perseverance, and attention to detail—skills that carry beyond the range and into everyday life. For those ready to take it to the next level, competitions offer a chance to challenge themselves, meet fellow cadets from across the region, and experience the camaraderie that makes this program so special.

We’re proud of our cadets for their dedication and hard work, and we can’t wait to see them continue to grow—both on and off the range!

Community Clean-Up

Last weekend, our cadets rolled up their sleeves and took part in a community clean-up effort at Beamsville’s Royal Canadian Legion Branch 612. Community service is a core part of the Cadet Program, helping young people grow into confident, responsible citizens while giving back to the places that support them.

✨ 1626 RCACC – Honouring Remembrance Day ✨

On Tuesday, November 11/2025, our cadets from 1626 Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps proudly took part in the Remembrance Day Ceremony at the Cenotaph in Beamsville, Ontario.

Across Canada, Army Cadets play an important role each November in supporting communities as we honour and remember the sacrifices of our veterans. Our cadets are deeply involved in many ways, including:

🇨🇦 Supporting the Royal Canadian Legion’s Poppy Campaign
Cadets volunteer countless hours distributing poppies and helping raise vital funds that directly support veterans and their families.

🇨🇦 Assisting Local Legions and Veterans
From greeting guests to providing general assistance, cadets learn the importance of service, gratitude, and community connection.

🇨🇦 Participating in Remembrance Day Ceremonies
Cadets stand proudly on parade, help lay wreaths, and offer support wherever needed. Many corps also provide Vigil Guards at cenotaphs—standing in silent tribute to those who served and sacrificed.

We are incredibly proud of the dedication, professionalism, and respect shown by our 1626 RCACC cadets. Their participation helps ensure that the stories and sacrifices of Canada’s veterans are never forgotten.
