My artwork will be up at the Kirkland Library until June 24. I’m taking it down June 25. But I will be at the library on Wednesday Wednesday evening, June 19 for a meet the artist/personal tour if you’d like to come in visit it when I’m there from 7 to 8:30 PM
(if that time doesn’t work for you please do let me know and I’ll try to meet you and it does work for you!).
If you decide you’d like to go see the show on your own before it closes. I recommend calling the library because if there’s a class in that room, you can’t go in to see the show so you might want to check the schedule before driving out there.
I hope if you want to see it I get ti see you!

Here’s some progress on my embroidered Chimney Swift that will be appliquéd onto my painting of Lisa Mintz. I’ve given you some shots to see the progression. These fascinating birds live almost their whole lives in the air. They cannot properly perch but hang onto vertical surfaces. The can consume about 1000 insects in a day. They roost in chimneys (hence the name) which happened once forests were being cut down, they adapted. But now that chimneys are being phased out, they are at peril. Some places build artificial chimney stacks just for them Lisa Mintz says that near the Falaise St Jacques (which she helped to preserve) they live in a chimney on Madisan and St Jacques. Pretty cool birds and her favourites, so I will embroider a few to populate the air above her in her painting.
